Man fatally stabbed after argument with acquaintance on Osaka street

Osaka police have issued an arrest warrant for a 46-year-old man over his suspected involvement in the murder of an acquaintance on Tuesday.

Police said Masami Fujita is wanted for the murder of Ken Okada, 40, after witnesses reported seeing the two in the midst of a quarrel early Tuesday on the street in Naniwa Ward, Fuji TV reported. Okada was found collapsed on the street with knife wounds to his back at around 4:10 a.m. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

On the day before the murder, security cameras captured footage of Okada, banging on the door of Fujita's apartment with a fire extinguisher. At the same time, camera footage also showed someone who police believe was Fujita, jumping from his second floor apartment window and running away from the area.

My sympathy for Okada is less than it could be.

I see security cameras play as strong a role in preventing crime as the j-police.

Naniwa-ku. I know the area well enough and it has been here where I had to call the police for the first place after I saw a woman being beaten up on the street. No one else seemed to care. Indeed a weird and gloomy area, but since it is something like the door to Nishinari-ku, Osaka's (and perhaps Japan's) biggest slums, it isn't that surprising. Mostly old and poor residents living here. Nobody seems to care about anyone else. Greetings from Naniwa-ku, where I am right now, by the way.

Arguing is childish fighting and unfortunately these largely illogical confrontations exist on into adulthood for humans who have not learned to calmly talk out, discuss, and sometimes compromise about life's problems, situation, and differing opinions. Adults should learn to communicate with almost no fighting at all for best results and healthy relationships. However I know it's easier said than done.

Pure speculation alert! Okada was a shady money lender shaking down Fujita for more than he could pay. Okada thought he could beat Fujita with impunity because of his Yak connections. Okada was mistaken.....

Seems plausible
