SAITAMA —
A 64-year-old man was found dead in his apartment in Warabi City on Tuesday night. Police have identified the man as Hikari Otomo, 64, and said he was already dead when his body was discovered by his landlord at around 8.45 p.m. on Tuesday night.
Otomo was found face down in the living room with injuries to his head believed to have been caused by a blunt object.
The landlord told police that the lights and TV were on when she visited his apartment, and the front door was unlocked. The victim lived by himself in a residential area about 800 meters southeast from JR Warabi station.

Maybe you should rethink your news categories - Saitama, National, International...
Or you could just rename the Crime section.

The motive is burglary and robbery, and this will be premeditated murder. JT should write this story with more details, I'm sure that police would have some sort of clue by now. We need an action from police with the facts and evidence. Will we have to wait long to hear that suspcet is behind the bars?

here here! i think for we peeps in saitama, i see it a little like the movie Copland: A lot of devious kinds living on the outskirts of Tokyo. But seriously folks, look at the numbers, it's one of the most populous prefectures in Japan, along with being one of the smallest. This population density is bound to be a leading cause for all the trouble. But, like other fellow saitamians above, I've never really seen any danger, aside from all of the cars that have almost run me over while on my bike or on foot, yet, that goes with any prefecture really. But with the millions, AND MILLIONS of little side-streets, even just biking and walking is quite dangerous here.

"800 meters southeast from JR Warabi station."
That is on the opposite side of the tracks from the Oki Corp. building. Ironically, one of Kawaguchi's top junior high schools is near this red light district, Sachinami. There were many times I would bike from that school back to the west side of Warabi Station and pass by the yakuza-types with their Lexus and the female students that were in one of my classes the previous year now a drop out and handing out tissues in their former uniform with the skirt hiked up. Learning the word "asobu" when one punk and his buddies approach some scantily clad "unko-chans" on the east exit of Warabi Station are fond memories while I was in the area.
