errrr, I can think of so many thing to say, but lets keep it to a minimum. The BSE thing is obviously a ploy to keep Japanese beef out of the country. Does China import other Western beef? US, AZ, NZ, Canada? 3 tons as crabs... are you crazy? There has to be better ways to smuggle it in like beef via a different port. Anyway, I'm positive you can make more money selling Japanese beef to other countries that don't have a ban.
I guess this brings new meaning to "surf and turf."
I guess everybody is banning everybody else's beef. The US won't eat Canadian, the Japanese and Koreans won't eat US, the Chinese won't eat Japanese, the EU won't eat British. Where will it end?
I guess the Chinese do not believe that the Japanese tests 100% of their beef for BSE. I know a lot of posters in JT claim that Japan tests 100% of its beef which is true if the cow is slaughtered at an official slaughterhouse. However, there are a lot of illegal slaughters not done in official slaughterhouse and those are not tested.
I suggest Japan beefs up the issue and asks the Chinese how come they allow close to 100,000 tons of USa beef t enter the coutry illegaly through Hong Kong. How come China persecutes Japan beef and does not do the same against smugglers that enter USa beef into China?

And I thought only U.S. beef had mad cow disease!
So the next time you see some beef mixed in with your crap sandwich you'll know where it came from.

Bizarre humor:
Imagine the disappointment of opening the package, finding no beef and ending up with crabs.
-still better than getting BSE.
