Man held over Hiroshima liquor store robbery
HIROSHIMA —
Police said Wednesday they have arrested a 41-year-old man for allegedly robbing a liquor store in Hiroshima on Tuesday. According to a report on Fuji TV, the suspect—identified as Takanobu Uchida—came into the Liquor & Foods Kono store in Honkawa-cho in Naka Ward around midday and threatened the 63-year-old saleswoman with a knife. He demanded money and fled with about 50,000 yen.
An off-duty policeman, who was nearby, saw the suspect emerge from the store, with the knife still in his hand, and followed him to his home. The owner of the store called police and at about 12:30 p.m., officers arrested Uchida at his home on suspicion of robbery, Fuji reported.
Uchida was quoted by police as saying he needed the money for living expenses.

aaaannnnnnd....What did this keystone do? Just followed him? That's it? I guess since he wasn't on the clock, he didn't have to do anything...I suppose.

I'd say the off-duty cop did the right thing. He kept an eye on the place and waited for back-up to arrive. So there is no need to insult him by calling him "Keystone."

smartacus, he didn't even call for back up. That's a keystone in my book.

Use your head, Gurukun. How did the police know WHICH home to make the arrest at? (Hint: It involves the off-duty policeman.)

Fadamor, I don't know. You show where that is written.
