Police in Uto, Kumamoto Prefecture, have arrested an 83-year-old man for stabbing his neighbor after he was warned not to let his dogs run loose.
According to police, the suspect, Mitsuyoshi Kushimura, stabbed his 70-year-old neighbor at around 2 p.m., on Thursday, Sankei Shimbun reported.
The neighbor was stabbed with a kitchen knife but his condition is not serious, police said Friday.
Another neighbor told reporters that "Everyone in the area has been annoyed by Kushimura's dogs because he lets them all run loose. There are only three at the moment, but he used to have more than 10."
Kushimura has admitted to the charge and was quoted by police as saying he got aggravated after being told off about his dogs.

That is a pretty rabid 83 year old. Usually, by that age one would expect people to be mellower...

nah, i think people grow more stubborn with age. i've heard of road rage but never dog rage.

There's no stupid codger like an old stupid codger.
It seems Kushimura lived in a gomiyashiki...

I wonder what Timmy's mom would have done if she had been told not to let Lassie run around loose...

The problem in most of these cases are people with passive-aggressive characters. There's a whole load of these ticking time bombs out there.

Neighbors from hell.

I thought at first it was the neighbor stabbing the dog owner but it was the dog owner for being told to watch his dogs.

Maybe people should make a complaint to their neighbor or whoever at their own peril.

"he got aggravated after being told off " According to Carl Von Linnaeus 1707-1778 ...grave, sallow, etc, and ruled by opinions...."Everyone in the area has been annoyed" So it seems his neighborhood ruled him to rule out compassion.

He should have just called the dog catcher...
nath
Why would he call the dog catcher on his own dogs?

They had some quite big dogs running around a Bunkyo-ku, neighborhood, and they called the j-copz, but they could not do anything, and did not know of how to contact the Bunkyo-ku,, But they do have this one:

Isn't there a cop show on Animal Planet where a special police force goes after animal abusers and owners who are negligent? We should get those people out here

Maybe, just maybe, anotherexpat was referring to the neighbour who was complaining. A big stretch, but....
