Man stabs neighbor in leg, slashes face over noise dispute
A 48-year-old man in Kawasaki has been arrested for the attempted murder of his 51-year-old neighbor over a noise disturbance, police said Tuesday.
According to police, the man, who has been named as Takuo Miyamoto, allegedly stabbed his neighbor in the leg and slashed his face with a kitchen knife at around 8 p.m. on Sunday at an apartment block in Nakahara Ward.
TV Asahi quoted police as saying that Miyamoto confessed to stabbing his neighbor, who lives opposite him, but claimed he had something to say in mitigation of his crime. Police believe there was a history of trouble between the men, which flared up when the victim banged on the floor in response to noise coming from Miyamoto’s apartment.
