Man stays with murdered woman for week after death
TOKYO —
A 58-year-old man was arrested on Monday for strangling a woman to death in a condo in Odaiba. Police said the man kept the body in his apartment for a week before turning himself in.
The man, identified as Katsuyuki Soba, is suspected of strangling the woman, a Filipina in her 40s, in the bedroom of his apartment. Soba told police he met the woman seven months ago, and that the pair had gotten into a fight about something trivial. He was quoted as saying: “I felt like dying too, but I couldn’t.”

I would say its something psychological, a control issue. I have come across a fella here and there and they always seem to be the same.... some otaku who is now a salaryman or engineer who cannot cope with a Japanese woman. These dudes often head to Thailand or PI on their pension or stay here and get themselves mixed up in all sorts of crap. Good for him that he turned himself in and she is considered by the Japanese to be less than human or beneath them. A year or two in the slammer and he will be off to PI to top himself off for good. These cases come into light and into oblivion and sadly no one cares.

Are Japanese becoming copycat murderers or is this beautiful country going down the drain like others? Regardless of her nationality or purpose in Japan, it's a life lost in a senseless act of violence against women. However, this seems to be a good venue for the "armchair shrink" to get off.

A 58-year old man and a Filipina woman in her 40s...assuming she's his girlfriend, I bet they fought over his younger companions. The poor woman could have spent some years of her younger age to be with this man and he's now probably running around with women half his age...RIP.

The whole event sounds quite sad to me, and I prefer to not speculate what he may have done to the woman after her passing, what may have caused him to react in a manner that resulted in her death, or what type of a relationship they may have had. Its sad, and tragic.
