Man steals cash and car from Kyoto gasoline station

KYOTO —

Police said Wednesday they are looking for a man who stole cash and a car from a gasoline station in Yamashina, Kyoto, on Monday.

The man, who was described as being around 30 years of age and wearing black clothes, was captured by CCTV cameras forcing his way into a gasoline stand at around 5 a.m., Fuji TV reported. He then allegedly threatened an employee and ordered him to hand over cash. The employee pressed the emergency buzzer, at which point the suspect punched him and made off with 100,000 yen and a company car.

Police say the employee sustained only minor injuries to his arm.
