Man threatens hotel employee with suspected poison liquid in Osaka

OSAKA —

A man described as being in his sixties or seventies tried to rob a hotel in Osaka, early on Monday morning The man threatened a 24-year-old employee with a plastic bag full of a liquid which he claimed was a highly toxic substance, police said Tuesday.

According to police, the man entered the hotel at around 5:30 a.m. and threatened the 24-yeard-old female receptionist with a plastic bag full of liquid, saying “Give me the money if you don’t want me to spill this hydrogen sulfide.” The man fled the scene after another female employee, 49, shouted at him.

Police said the suspect was wearing white jacket, cap, and a mask at the time of the incident. A similar attempted burglary was reported in June, at a Karaoke box about 6 km away from the hotel.

The toxicity of H2S is comparable with that of hydrogen cyanide. It forms a complex bond with iron in the mitochondrial cytochrome enzymes, thereby blocking oxygen from binding and stopping cellular respiration. Since hydrogen sulfide occurs naturally in the environment and the gut, enzymes exist in the body capable of detoxifying it by oxidation to (harmless) sulfate.[3] Hence low levels of sulfide may be tolerated indefinitely. what films resemble this..this man may become also a gambler and drinker. so to fund this, he and his friends work this way....why dont gamblers understand where the money is coming from, before sitting down, why gamble at all if it will dishonour the name?!
