    He didn't plan his caper really well. I would have had an escape plan. At least buy plane tickets first than steal the money. Maybe he should have asked his assistant if he wanted in on the deal.

    well rather than being a criminal mastermind who stuck a big middle finger up at the establishment and fled to his retirement, he appears to be some random idiot who on a whim though he could clear a few debts but had escape plan rather than to blow a few bucks in neighboring prefectures.

    It's not even that much money.

    At the current exchange rate that's about US$800,000, not bad for an old dude.

    At age 66yrs.& old didn't the robber also mess up his retirement plans & pension income? I don't condone his robbery/criminal act but it seems it was a spur of the moment decision act & not a thought out preplanned scheme.
