Shouldn't be too hard for the Keystone Cops to solve. Who knew he was carrying the jewelry at that time? Obviously an inside job, or maybe the guy himself was involved.
Not a good policy for a jewelry shop to allow 100 million yen to be transported by one guy. You'll get robbed from both real thieves and employees that way - oh wait.
Banks and McDonald's will provide more security just to send off 1/10th as much money (even less, if it came down to it).
Did this bag have "100 million yen of jewels" written all over it? Because in the off chance it didn't, it's an inside deal one way or another.
I guess soon they would be asking, "who were those masked men?"
And the idiom "don't put all your eggs in one basket" comes to mind. But it is probable that someone knew what he was carrying, or at least who he is and where he works. He would be a very, very unfortunate man if it was just a random crime.
"Hit by a car from behind...all of whom wore masks..."
Driving visually impaired...no wonder they hit the poor guy. 500 pieces of jewelry? Nah, nothin' to do with it.
hit by a car on the footpath? a zebra crossing? 0therwise, why is he walking in the street with 100mil jewelry? No cuffs to secure the brief-case/bag? ... methinks something's not right...hope the j-cops can figure this out!
The three robbers must have known him or followed him, with timing calculation (It could even be insurance job).
What I don't understand is; 'How an executive walk around can unprotected with such valuable jewellery? I hear about this before in different countries in the world, and all issues like that ended up that co called 'victim' landed up in court. Possibility...
The one thing you have to do if you are carrying things of high value is to break up your routine so the crooks can't case your activities and plan when to mug you. If you follow a set pattern that is obvious you're an easy target.
Of course following a set pattern that is obvious is part of the definition of "wa," isn't it?
