Mother arrested for killing new-born baby at home in Yamanashi

YAMANASHI —

A 33-year-old woman was on Wednesday arrested for killing her new-born baby at her home in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture.

Maki Otogawa, 33, was arrested for allegedly strangling the baby and abandoning her in a public restroom on August 16. Otogawa called her mother saying that she had killed the baby on August 17.

According to police, Otogawa delivered the bay at her friend’s house and before taking her home by car.

She killed her baby...the sumo guy is banned for life within HOURS of being arrested for having a joint in his wallet that he lost MONTHS ago!

Sure would like to hear more background on this story to know WHY she killed her child (maybe the kid was deformed or her boyfriend dumped her, or she lost her job).

As tragic as it is there's a REASON for her doing it. No matter what its still very tragic!

Sounds like she was in denial about the whole pregnancy, if she chose to give birth at her friend's house.

Are you serious? This is not an action just anybody might do. Ever hear of adoption? Hell, sell the kid! It's not legal but it's not murder!

It takes less effort to abandon the baby at a clinic somewhere. How could anyone strangle a newborn, much less watch it suffer and die?
