well, his full name and pictures are all over on the internet already.. besides, he took away 2 innocent lives (mom and the baby) and STILL trying to protect his own identity makes me mad.

not only he raped and killed the young mom, but also he killed the 11-month-old baby crying and trying to reach her mom and hid the baby and mom in the closet, stole the woman's money and spent it at a game center, visited his friends house afterwords and etc etc.. CRAZY.

people need to know who this guy is -- that'd be a part of the punishment he'd have to bear.

    > As Japanese law prohibits media from reporting the names of juvenile delinquents, the media has kept the defendant anonymous even after he became an adult.

He's an adult now!! Plus he was already 18 years old when he murdered the woman and the baby - old enough to know what's right and what's wrong. There's no way he can get away with his way.

    So what's his name?

Moderator: Sorry, his name cannot be printed as he was a minor when he committed the crime.

This is nonsense. The constitution states "Freedom of assembly and association as well as speech, press and all other forms of expression are guaranteed. 2) No censorship shall be maintained".

The court does not have the authority to prevent publication. End of story.

we should be able to browse names and pictures of criminals online, hopefully that would lower crime rate here..

What a wonderful example of humanity. This POS (Piece of XXXXX) has been running from his responsibilities since the cops caught him. First it was his bad upbringing (apparently he was never toilet trained and used to do it anywhere at home), then it was his psychological state of mind, and now this.

In terms of murders in this country, this case was a biggie. This chap was convicted in the aggravated murder of a young mother (I think everybody knows what aggravated means) and her baby, not a child, a baby. The husband of the victim displayed one of the biggest set of bxlls in this country by making sure the prosecutors went for the death penalty. Unlike many cases in Japan where there is public pressure to show mercy on young defendants, the husband was solid in his conviction that this POS deserved to die. Moreover, he has retained this attitude through all the subsequent legal proceedings.

Anyway, I don't really care if this chap's name is printed or not. It is already all over the Internet anyway. What I do care about, however, is this chap not missing his appointment with the executioner.

The author said that the defendant had said it was OK to use his name. I guess after talking to his lawyer he had a change of heart. Or perhaps Doraemon told him not to release his name. Whichever the case may be, I hope that his sentence is not overturned, and is carried out quickly.

Although I don't wish to return to the dark middle ages, this individual, this cold blooded killer, who depraved a young woman and her baby of a life and future, after inflicting unbelievable harm you can't begin to imagine, is not in a position to make any kind of demands.

Name him, shame him (and his family), then hang him, problem solved.

Well this case is yet another monster crime of cruelty by a sub-human..yet he clearly worries of having his name published in some book which could be this year's new best-seller. Too bad for this abomination of a guy because there is no way in heaven that his name and photograph will be forever hidden from the people. Just type his name in kanji and hundreds of articles showing his name and picture will pop up just like that.

    Ridiculous.

This guy was given the death sentenced last year..finally. So hopefully he will totally wet himself once they drag him all the way to the hangman's noose. The victim's husband Motomura Hiroshi can sleep at night in peace from now on.
