Murdered woman identified in Iwate

Police on Friday said the body found in a river in Iwate Prefecture on Wednesday has been identified as Kozue Sato, 17, who lives in Kurihara City, Miyagi Prefecture. According to police, the victim’s father, Masahiro, 50, on Tuesday reported to police that his daughter was missing. He identified his daughter on Thursday afternoon.

Police said an autopsy showed that Sato had been strangled. She also had a skull fracture. Police said they will question a 28-year-old male acquaintance of Sato, The man’s car was found crashed near the river on Thursday. Police added they are also analyzing the victim’s mobile communication logs.

    I never get this weird obsession with the J underworld among some posters here. Too many gangster movies? The bleached hair and tatoos to me sound just like a "yankee" girl, nothing more. In any case, according to the TV news, the cops think the perp already killed himself, so this is one case that seems pretty closed.

    Sorry lads, I am with "WilliB", the fact that she has tattoos just shows she is rebelious and/or into fashion of tats. I know many Japanese with tats, but no yak connections. The dyed hair also just means fashionable or young or trendy or rebelious. I have met only a few Yak with "dyed" hair, many don't evensport the Punch perm now. (although, many "Chimpira" still carry a mullet!! the muppets) Sad though that this happened to one so young...
