another woman, 20, returned home at around 7:30 p.m. and encountered the man carrying a mutilated body with him, police said. The 20-year-old woman reported to a nearby police box at around 9:55 p.m.
Why did it take two and a half hours to go to the cops?
I hope the people of Toyko will get angry at the guy who cut up this young lady as the people of yokosuka and okinawa are about the crimes commited by US Militry personnel also will the entertainment area of Roppongi will close down for a few days of reflection as the the people in charge of the US Military have required I hope that this brutal crime will get as many posts as the murder of the taxi driver because I think that it appears that a Japanese life is more important that this Young Filipina who came to Japan to earn a living even though she was working in a bar she did not desevre to die this way I hope that the Japanese media will cover this with the same coverage they have devoted to the case in Yokusuka /OkinawaI also hope the JNP have got this guy in custody and will sent him right to the Gallows
In all fairness, I've read plenty of Japanese on Japanese crime that is reported one day and basically forgotten by the third day. It's posters that keep the story alive in my opinion.
maybe there's a talented bloggers here and would like to help to solve this crime because until now the suspect is not arrested... and some of the upper body parts of that young lady are still missing...
Zer00,
same opinion here, it is really unimaginable that someone could chop a human body. unless he is exposed to so much violence(w/c is the current japan society now) or so desparate to cover up for his crime, this person will be capable of doing this.
may the victim's soul rest in peace...
it was shown in the news this morning the identity of the killer and also that of the young girl. and kinda looks like the police had already caught the guy who did this...i hope JT will make a follow-up news article on this.
Man held over death of woman whose mutilated body was found in Tokyo condo. Hiroshi Nozaki, who just got arrested again Monday over the death of another woman. Before in 2000, he was arrested and later sentenced to three years and six months for mutilating and abandoning the body of another Filipina. Hiroshi Nozaki was held on suspicion of damaging the body of the woman, who the police identified as Honiefaith Ratilia Kamiosawa, 22, a food service worker of Philippines nationality.
I wonder just how many women this guy has cut up and gotten away with? I also wonder how he only got a 3 1/2 sentence for murder when he was 40 eight years ago? Do you get less time if the body is in smaller pieces or something? Must be a Japanese court thing for short sentences if you are a local.
From the TV news coverage last night, it appears that his earlier conviction was for illegal disposition of a corpse, and not for murder. He seems to have claimed to have found the previous woman dead already. An autopsy doesn't seem top have been done, but in any case they seem not to have had sufficient evidence for a murder conviction.
This time, unfortunately for the victim but fortunately for society, it looks as if they'll be able to get him for murder.
I don't know about you guys, but back in the states, if you are "illegally disposing of a corpse", the cops are more than likely going to be asking lot's of questions. Namely, like how you got the corpse in the first place. Corpses don't really grow on trees you know, and I know most people would call the cops first. Most wouldn't find a corpse laying around and think "sweet, something to mutilate and dispose of elswhere!". Seems like no real effort was made to try or convict this guy of the first murder. Well he's busted now! Might even get 4 years this time. Mind numbing. Japanese white-washing of crimes by Japanese against foreigners is appalling, and the lack of effort in solving or prosecuting any of these cases is even more disturbing, just ask that poor British girl's family. Japanese media and Govt. attitudes towards other asian nationalities goes way beyong nationalism and slides well toward that certain R word.

My Heart go out to her family, did she have kids in the Philippines? Her friends she grew up with. Her Soul, life, gone, never to come back again.

Sorry that's not the way it works. Japanese are not the victim in this case. Story forgotten by tomorrow.

Foreigners in any country seem to be easy targets for predators. This one still makes me sick though.
