Nagoya couple arrested for starving 5-year-old daughter over 6 months
NAGOYA —
A couple were arrested Wednesday in Nagoya for abusing their five-year-old daughter for over half a year in 2008, withholding food to the point she lost consciousness.
Unemployed Hiroshi Ono and his registered nurse wife Shinobu, both 34, allegedly starved their daughter until she lost consciousness. They took her to the hospital in December 2008. At the time she weighed in at seven kilograms, under half the average weight of a girl her age. The pair had reportedly been purposely withholding food from the girl since May 2008. Both parents admit to the charges.

Slow, brutal starvation is horribly evil, and smacks of complete cowardice on the parents part.
I hope the kid recovers, and the parents never get out of jail.
And what the mother-F has been happening since they took the kid to the hospital in DECEMBER 2008??????

The mother was a registered nurse of all things. So she was completely aware of the ramifications of what she was doing such as permanent kidney damage and other organ damage caused by the increase in blood acidity as the muscle tissue starts to be metabolised. This is cruelty of the highest order and in most other countries the nation would be in shock and asking whats gone wrong with society.

The saddest thing is, these two sadistic morons won't even be charged over this. There will be no 'suspended sentence'. They will receive a slap on the wrist and go home to continue abusing their daughter.

Very sad.
You have to wonder what the Ono's extended family & friends thought (if they have any) what the hell was going on with this little girl.
And yes even more tragically these parents will claim stress or that they were not responsible for their actions due to no toilet training when they were kids as a way of exonerating themselves of any wrongdoing.

This happened two years ago and they are just being arrested now?! And the mother was a nurse?! 7 kilos is about the weight of a 6 month old baby. How could anyone do that to their 5 year old child?!! Absolutely abominable!

The father is unemployed and the mother is a registered nurse, and they intentionally withheld food from the child for 6 months. Obviously the child had SOME food or she wouldn't have lasted much longer than a week or two. It's almost like they were conducting some bizarre experiment on their child to see what the bare minimum was needed to keep her alive and six months later they had to quit the experiment and bring her to the hospital.
Sadly, these monsters have probably permanently damaged the poor girl's body, stunting growth mechanisms and damaging organs. So even if she recovers, she won't be able to lead a completely "normal" life.

sad thing is someone probably said their child was fatter than the others. Have met a woman at the park who told me her daughter shouldn't be eating so much because she was on a "diet" when my daughter tried sharing some senbei.
