Nail found in ham at Saitama supermarket

SAITAMA —

Police on Tuesday said a nail was found in ham sold at a supermarket in Toda City, Saitama Prefecture, on Monday afternoon.

According to police, a female customer found the nail in the ham at the supermarket around 4 p.m. and the shop called police. Police said the nail is about 1.2 cm long and was stuck into the vacuumed-packed ham. The shop manager told police they didn’t find anything suspicious when they checked the products on Saturday.
