Needle found in mandarin in Yokohama store
YOKOHAMA —
A customer discovered a needle stuck in a mikan (mandarin) that was purchased from a supermarket in Yokohama’s Aoba Ward, police said Monday, adding they believe someone spiked the fruit on purpose.
The customer, who purchased the mikan from a Tokyu Store on Sunday night, was about to eat it when she noticed a needle stuck inside. She took the mikan back to the store. The mikan came in a bag of seven, but the other six were untouched, as were other mikan at the supermarket.
According to police, the needle was about 5 cm long, and part of it was sticking out of the fruit. Police are currently investigating distribution channels for the fruit.

Horrible thing to do, but I don't think anyone would mistakenly swallow it. It's 5 c.m long.
More likely she would have injured her hands while trying to peel it, as it wouldn't escape notice beyond that point. But that brings us back to betterdays' question, was it a sewing needle or a syringe needle?

Was this mandarin pure or loaded with the white powder? What a perfect self service for drugs pushers. I also like to know what was inside mandarin or was this a welcome sign for free drug injection? It is very strange story.

Yeah, I thought a needle in a mandarin meant poking pins in bureaucrats too. I could support that. Why people put pins in mikan is just sick.
