No excuse whatsoever for this. Enjoy your jail time + deportation + damaged reputation.

  • timorborder at 10:24 AM JST - 20th September

Hold on, I think I know this guy through the ANZCCJ (Chamber of Commerce). If guilty of these crimes, however, he should either go to the big house or be PNGed and kicked out of Japan.

Driving while hungover, perchance? sometimes even when you try to do the right thing, take a cab home, sleep it off, etc., you still screw up royally.

Pretty tough mob on these boards. He should be treated as any Japanese would, which doesnt include deportation. Plenty of Japanese dui in the States when I was there, and a Japanese acquaintance who couldnt fathom not being allowed to dui returning from wine tasting in Napa spent numerous weekends pulling weeds from the freeways. Get a perspective folks.

I thoroughly dislike the way Japan singles out anyone they think is 'news'. What about the other 200 people booked for DUI in Kobe over the last week?

  • TokyoGas at 12:46 PM JST - 20th September

Deportation will be the verdict in this.

  • DXXJP at 06:28 PM JST - 20th September

He'll get his just deserts doubt he will be deported, some of you really dont know the laws here. I know a kiwi that was busted for distribution of drugs did his time and is still living happy here.

  • ganjaa at 10:19 AM JST - 21st September

yep...there are a lot of folks who don't know the laws. I was done up for assault. Spend 3 days in the clink. Saw the prosecutor, he fined me 100,000yen and sent me on my way. This was over 10 years ago when I was young, dumb and full of 'you know what'. In any case deportation is not imminent for this guy. He may lose his job unless his local manager is a non-Japanese person. His only redeeming factor may be if Nestle acts likea foreign firm and not a Japanese one.
