Yes "Quite mean" is a bit of a wet term... I agree, shootout is definitely the wrong term...

Unfortunately the world will never learn, right until it ends up like another Adam and eve - just 2 people left alive.. hating each other for no reason whatsoever except someone elses ideas... what a terribly sad world.. space rockets, science, technology and still too many fools being dictated to by mass brainwashing and out of date books !

    basically we are screwed !

I thought they were just looking for Americans and Brits? So why kill Japanese? If that was their intent. I don't get this.

  • some14some at 01:48 PM JST - 27th November

Please tell me this was lost in translation: Aso Taro calls the attacks "quite mean"!!!

Hard to define, as hard as Japan calling murder of families of ex-bureaucrats as 'series of terror attacks'. This is perfect example of serial terror attack which japan politicians and media may take note. Tragic day and R.I.P to victims.

there are a lot of people who think they can just wish terrorism away but the real solution lies in responding in a way that forces Muslims countries to weed out the radicals from within their societies.

No religion would encourage killing, otherwise it just would not spread. It's a few fundamentalists who have distorted the meaning of teachings and hijacked the religion. I heard about a Muslim mother whose son was suspected of terrorist activity telling her son that if he wants to know true meaning of Jihad (holy war) he should ask a mother rather than getting influenced by some fundamentalists.

I agree that the vast majority of Muslims have no desire to kill anyone at all. However, Islamic doctrine clear and unequivocally calls for the death or subjugation of non-Muslims. The reason we don't hear much condemnation of these terrorist actions from 'moderate' Muslims is because in doing so they would be contradicting the Koran, thereby risking the full wrath of Sharia Law.

Moderator: Readers, please do not turn this discussion into a debate on Islam, the Koran or any other religion.

People what ever religion they are should now the difference between good and bad, Christians will tern the other cheek even the moderate ones, how about the Muslims? is there anything that can be forgiven with out adding death to what ever is to be forgiven. and how can you deform what god has created, if the Muslim religion can circumcise women HOW can a religion be above Allah if what he has created be abused by the hands of men????

This news are all over the world, the only new thing is that a Japanese businessman was killed. Terrorists are only after Americans and British. The victim was just in the wrong place at the time. There is no mention that they targeted Japanese people, so I wouldn't be concerned. Keep out of politics.

Bullets and explosives do not descriminate.

    Muchakucha,

Forums like these are not exactly the appropriate place to discuss religious text in detail.who stick to the treaty.

I am a Muslim. I also consider myself a moderate Muslim, and I say to you that the people who did this India are terrorists, whatever religion (if any) they belong to. And they should be given the most severe punishment applicable - including the death penalty.

Moderator: All readers, please stay on topic.

This is not unspecified terrorism, this is jihad. And there is only one religion that has a jihadist message. It is only political correctness that tries to obfuscate this. Buddhists and Catholics do not go on a jihad. And the jihadist problem is hardly new to India. Remember the Bombay train bombings, the Amadebad bombings from just a few months ago, and the ongoing terrorism in Kashmir? This is just the latest in an ongoing string.

So over 400 victims and the Japanese media chooses to report it only when they find out TWO of their own were killed. What a thoroughly self-centered country. And this isn't just JapanToday, there were headlines on my KEITAI that said "One Japanese dies" "Japanese killed in Mumbai". Just sickening.

India has problems, between its people by polarisation of people of different faiths and polaristaions by economic status.

The people of India are affected by their past history, the partition of india in 1940s,India-Pakistan wars,Kashmir woes,Babri masjid incident, ongoing bombings by gangs of the frustrated people,rich-poor divisions/polarisations,racial woes, lingual woes, poverty social problems and many other unsolved woes.

Is an ongoing string of woes which has plagued india since 1940s and the low quality governments since then have yet to solve them. The government have just sweeped the problems under the carpets of their rich homes/hotels.

The present administartions needs to start solving these huge woes in huge nation of approaching 1150 million people. This huge populations means the problems are 10 times the size a 100 million something nation.

The economic pie sucess of india is only benifiting the top rich 1 percent, the Tatas,Ambani family,Birlas,Mittals, other rich dynasty and 99 percent have little of that economic pie especially in the poor parts of india.

It is not surprising for people from india to take up arms against the rich class of India or indirectly the government.

According to Ibnlive.com the people taking up arms in this incident blame Babri Masjid, persecutions and Kashmir for their actions. Miseries in india will only get worse before they get better.

India is a nation now approaching 3000 billion in wealth about half as rich as china ,but much of that wealth making systems,is not helping the persecuted and poor sections of indian society.

Things in India will only get worse before the get better. There is hope for things to get better in long run via very good governance/cyber revolution changes at the top in future india. This takes time of decades.

I asked a good Indian friend about this terrorist incident in Mumbai, and he told me that he does not really think this is a jihadi type of terror attack. Mumbai is the financial center of India (like New York and it's World Trade Center Towers to the USA) so these idiot terrorist want to try to scare the Indians and topple their economic capital, just as the idiots on 9/11 thought they could with the USA and the West. I do feel sorry for this 1 Japanese guy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time but I think this is a wake up call for not only India but also for Obama to not even think of closing Guantanamo base in Cuba.

They were looking for Yanks and Brits, yes, but they were also targeting any foreigners too.

I asked a good Indian friend about this terrorist incident in Mumbai, and he told me that he does not really think this is a jihadi type of terror attack.

Then your friend has absolutely no idea what he's talking about!
