I hope they at least gave the standard one-week advance call to let them know they're coming and for the company to hide/burn the files, like they do with Japanese firms and the Yakuza.

I've got to disagree. The negligence is due to Japanese business ethics, of which, there are none! This is one company that caught. For this one company there are thousands more in all industries, food, construction, maintenance, politics.
