Women should be punished for psychological violence

Punished? How about just leaving the crappy relationship?

We have all thought about poppin’ the ones we love (that goes for men and women)… Especially our significant others! But the actual following through with it is sick! [...] Any thoughts?

Yeah, here's a thought. I have never ever not even once thought about using violence against a significant other. So please don't make blanket statements. I'm glad you can control your feelings.

women have been given a blank check to say whatever the hell they want.

Anyone can say what they like. The problem comes when people think words are justification for a beating.

It is just a simple fact that human beings can be made to lose control

Mmm, no it isn't. 'She made me beat her' is just an excuse for a lack of self-control. If you don't like what your woman (or any woman. any person) is saying to you, just walk away.

i'd never let a woman hit me. if she tried anything, i'd be like HEY! get back in the kitchen and make me some pie!

    (sorry couldn't resist)

    that's like a negative 20 on a scale of 1-100 of funny.

@cleo: this is basically because of people's lack of self control, and then projection of responsibility. We grab anything when we fall. . . I agree with you completely

It would be interesting and useful to have a reference link to the survey itself...

  • josebove at 12:08 AM JST - 27th March

I found one link to a prior survey:

what do you call a woman with a black eye? - a woman that didnt listen

What do you call a woman with 2 black eyes? - a woman that didnt listen the second time..

Just a funny joke if youre a peaceloving person but not when its your real life....

Both men and women play roles in domestic violence but its the one that draws the sword (throws the punches) that is always in the wrong.

What do you say to a woman with two black eyes?

Nothing - you've already told her twice.

Any act of violence upon another person is wrong as is intimidation. I am sorry for those people who are victims of domestic violence but they are adults and have choices to argue, cop it or leave in most cases unless you feel a regular bashing is better than struggling to find a new life elsewhere. What really tugs on me is they nightmarish and gut wrenching experience the children of the household must endure every time the warring parties take to each other. I hated my own parents late night very audible arguments and saw the horror on some friends families when they heard their drunk fathers car pull up in the driveway. They new it meant verbal and physical abuse of their mother in front of them. They hated their father for it. My parents only argued over my mother smoking and neither consumed alcohol. I cannot imagine how horrible it is when dad starts smashing up the house and then turns physical on mum. I am surprised millions of sons don't kill their fathers to protect their mums. I know some women are bitches - but dad can leave too.

marriage is a kind of imprisonment, so why be surprised if the inmates sometimes lash out against the guards?

  • Yasashihito at 01:53 PM JST - 30th March

Of the total, 62.6% gave replies considered valid

The others had their mouths wired shut, so their answers could not be understood

In Japanese TV Drama's it's not uncommon to see male character smack around woman. The woman usually apologize to the men after they get smacked around. I'm surprised only 30% reported it as it appears quite accepted.

just a reassertion of status quo, then
