A man stole 2.1 million yen at knifepoint from a pachinko parlor in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Sunday.

According to police, a 66-year-old woman part-time employee was preparing to open the door to the pachinko prize exchange office at around 9:30 a.m. when a man suddenly appeared and threatened her with a knife, TV Asahi reported. The woman told police he demanded money or he would kill her.

Police said the frightened woman took a bag containing 2.1 million yen from the safe and handed it to the assailant before he got on his bike and rode away. The woman was unharmed.

The suspect is estimated to be between 20 and 30 years of age, approximately 170 cm tall, and was wearing a black jacket at the time of the robbery.

What a coward to steal from an old lady. Thankfully, she is okay.

Apart from a tough guy, I can't really blame the old woman for giving up the bag containing 2.1 million yen to defend herself from this cowardly attack. Yes, she's alive. That's all that matters.

That said, I think the employer should hire a grim-looking man or two, as funds permit...

Most companies actually instruct employees to be submissive to robbers, it is not their job to protect the money. The police will investigate and probably track down the guy. It may take some time but he will be caught, the lady was probably doing her job just right when she gave the money.

I bet the robber spends it all within a few weeks and goes on another robbery. Oh, how I hope the robber is caught.

Must be checking surveykance video now. Hope one copy woll be given to the parlar's protectiom organization to get money back beside the criminal who did attempted murder and grand robbery.

Money handling positions use more females because they don't have sticky fingers and they can count and cimpute or use computers better.

Money bag. Acturally money case. I don;t know how this parlar do but you can open if you have combination. Unlikely insider job as wives of owners and wives of high level employees operate money exchange business. It will be difficult to open money cases. Need pistol to shoot out comb system opener. These prize giving exchange business are not considered gambling in Japan. There are legal gambling in Japan. Horse race, Bicycke race boat race.

You are very realistic.

Do not cry over spilled water. Dishonorably earned money gets disposed dishonorably.

"Pachinko parlor robber gets away with Y2.1 mil..."

And then promptly loses it at the track.
