There are no winers here, a woman has probably lost a highly lucrative career and the drop-kick husband cash handouts from the same. Narcs everywhere don't so much 'detect' but rather rely on information pipelines. As someone has already posted, it's unbelievable that her premises should be searched without her there. Just incredulous but I forget; this is Japan.

As I've mentioned previously, in the past, I have taught English to a lot of narcs here at their offices and they are a pretty shrewd lot. All have degrees in pharmacology, many are in mufti and look drug- addled themselves to blend in to wherever they're operating. And all carry as small bag with the tools to do an on-the-spot analysis of dope, either psycho-tropical or the drug-of-choice here meta amphetamines.

What I just cannot understand is this: why the f*** risk so damn much for so precious bloody little?

The possibility that she was set up seems pretty realistic to me at least.

interesting point, but to be honest it looks like a chain of events rather then a conspiracy. The brother getting caught kick start it all, the police went undercover both on norip and yoichi. while on their tails, they probably caught him right on the spot as he got a new baggy from his dealer in doggenzakka and decided to jump on him right there. keeping the bag in your underwear is the oldest trick in the book, meaning he never thought anyone will jump on him but then when he was jumped - yoichi panicked and thought he can call his allmighty norip to get him out of the hot spot, but when she came and saw whats going on, she just backed off, running to her app and cleaning every little thing she could imagine will frame her, and in the rush forgot a few straws, one of the pipes, and used tinfoil around. Yoichi spill his guts in the Shibuya police, mad that norip just turned her back on him, and frame her as well. Norip in her panic dropped the child at a friends house and took off out of tokyo forgetting that the narcs can GPS her mobile at any time.. just a random chain of events i think more then a preplanned vicious eveil plan against sweet p chan.

"Takaso, who describes himself as a professional surfer, was arrested after a police officer found a plastic bag containing stimulants in his underwear in Tokyo’s Shibuya district."

    Police? Or the Bottom Inspectors?

Hopefully she will lose her career (who wants to employ a druggie), her husband, and her child (who would endanger a child by putting them in a household with two soon-to-be convicted druggies.

Agree with that, what I meant by set up is not that there was a conspiracy or that the drugs were planted, just that it's possible they were specifically targeted in a police investigation. And that the husband's arrest was not just a random, guy acting suspiciously drug bust like it has been portrayed.

Why stop there? Surely you can come up with some other horrors to satisfy your wounded moral outrage.

Give me time, I am working on it.

I just hate all this stupidity. Everybody in japan takes drugs of some sort. If not alcohol or cancer sticks then it's caffeine. Just because a useless bunch of oyaji old gits decides in their infinite wisdom that some thing is "legal" and something is "illegal", this poor lady will now be persected.

you are totally right. if you look at the biiger picture, just before the Doggenzaka arrest, 2 ddays earlier Manabu Oshio was arrested for possession of xtc pills in a not so far away from nori-p apartment in roppongi hills -- which suggest exactly what you say, that the police decided to dig deep into the roots of the entertainment scene recreation habits and it is just the beginning of it all... i wouldn't be surprise if in the next few days, another person on the same caliber or even bigger will get caught on something and the saga will continue.

is there any election coming or something, that the tokyo police head mobster try to flex muscles and show off with how good the roppongi police is and how well the shibuya and roppongi police work together?

(I assume in Japan people have the right to remain silent).

Prosecutors take silence as borderline confession.

shhhhhhh! don't tell anyone! who knows what might happen if the 'arararara' stops and people start thinking about politics

So her husband had stimulants in his underwear, huh. Interesting. Also interesting is what a big deal is being made out of .0008g. In the States quite a few of us would've been saying, "My mother has more grams than that in her casino bag." And very sad that that's what it's come to in the States - we have such huge drug problems that small amounts are, "Meh."

"Again, waste of time, money and people." Thanks GOGOGO I heartily agree.

Seems now that she gamed everyone. The police found that much but not a millionth of a gram more... from the home of a habitual user? Right. Any publicity is good publicity. There were a lot of people who did not care about NoriP two weeks ago. Now we can bet that she will at least feature prominently on the Dec. 31 news countdown. Yawn... I have my order in for her comeback album, how about the rest of you?
