Police in Saitama Prefecture are investigating three safe robberies on the same day which may be the work of the same gang.

In the first case, the front door of a restaurant in Higashi-Matsuyama was forced open with a crowbar and a safe containing approximately 1.4 million yen in cash was stolen at around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, TBS reported.

In the second and third incidents, at around 3 a.m. Thursday, a restaurant in nearby Konosu City and a massage parlor in Ageo City were also robbed in a similar fashion; the front door was once again forcibly opened with a crowbar, and the safes were removed from the premises, police said. Approximately 100,000 yen was stolen from the massage parlor.

Police said they are analyzing security camera footage taken near the scene of the crimes to try and identify the thieves.

There was another case in Oume on the 25th. The robbers dragged the safe out of the restaurant with a rope attached to a car. I wonder if that's related?
