What is with these elderly people walking in around in the very early hours of the morning? The roads are treacherous places at the best of times; narrow, mostly unlit, no footpath and people walking at unusual hours often without reflective clothing or 100yen shop flashing diode safety lights are running a deadly gauntlet. Not that I am condoning the hit and run, that is unexcusable, but the circumstances the leads up the tragic events is very questionable.

Sometimes, I see people passed out on a street corner from over drinking. Usually, I check if they are ok. And keep walking. But many times these people are heavily intoxicated and fall down in the middle of the street. I hope this guy wasn't the same man I carried on a sidewalk.

I do not understand why this guy couldn't get a taxi if he was soooo drunk and spend well over Y50000 yen drinking, coming out of a hostess bar.

What is all this hostess business? Are the men paying for a night of drink and sex? I ould have thought so at that price.

Drunk in dark clothes walking on the side of the road early in the morning while its still dark. I call it a take-down suicide, because it seems he wanted to die and take someone down with him.

The news is a bit sketchy (surprise). I didn't notice where it said that this man was coming from a bar and was drunk. Where was that written?

Also, he was FOUND at 4am in the morning, but there was no indication on how long he had been lying there. For all we know, he could have been lying there for several hours.

And this is how rumors get started. Whiskeysour brings up the alcohol theory, then two hours later posts again blasting the victim for being "soooo drunk" when Whiskeysour is the one who STARTED that rumor! Now everyone assumes it is fact because there are two posts commenting on the victim being drunk when in fact THERE IS NO MENTION OF ALCOHOL ANYWHERE IN THE ARTICLE.

...If you hit someone, STOP YOUR CAR. It really disgusts me that people can hit someone and then keep going. I just... can't fathom. I would be terrified of being arrested too (heaven knows the laws usually aren't in your favor), but I would still stop! What would possess you to leave a human being lying in the road to die? Even if you still wanted to run, at least call an ambulance! Ugh.

What do you mean a "possible" hit and run? They don't have anyone who can read the tire tracks down the guy's back?

    Yep! It's definately a Bridgestone!
