I am beginning to think that there are more crimes committed by Japanese police officers than any other single employment group in the country, including the US military.

“I thought my senior officers would get angry" You reckon? This guy's intellect is wasted as a police officer. With insights like this, he should be a rocket scientist.

If he could have only produced his badge, he could have been left off the hook. I bet.

So he came back, not because he was concerned about injuring a fellow workmate, but because he was scared of his boss?

what a dope. Not only the moron on the scooter but the butt head policemen who stand in the street risking their lives over a measly, in my experience ;-), 50,000yen. The last time I busted through nezumi-tori they got the F! out of the way...those were smart police offices. ;-)

“I thought my senior officers would get angry, so I tried to avoid being caught.

He could have been afraid that his seniors would make him pull weeds in front of the police station, write an apology letter and re-write the officer's manual by hand.

    Sounds familiar.

    Shame culture working overtime.

    Welcome to Saitama

Looking through the stories of the crime section on JT, sure I see a fair few from Saitama. But I also see a lot from Chiba, Kanagawa, Aichi etc. The fact is that the more people there are, the more crime there's gonna be. And Saitama has SEVEN MILLION people. It's part of the Tokyo metropolitan area, and has the fifth highest population out of the 47 prefectures. Have any of you actually been there? This place is a sprawling, low-density megacity with a population almost double that of the City of Los Angeles.

You sure know how to stop pedestrians on bicycles, now how about doing some real police work... A guy was stabbed in broad daylight, you're going to tell me nobody got a license plate, or some description...?

    That was a REAL murder...
