Policeman arrested for licking woman's hair

SHIZUOKA —

A Shizuoka police officer has been arrested for licking a woman’s hair in a restaurant, police said Wednesday.

According to police, the 50-year-old forensics officer, who has been named as Tetsuya Ichikawa, was detained by police after allegedly approaching a 25-year-old woman from behind and licking her hair at a restaurant in Shizuoka Station on Tuesday night, NTV reported.

A spokesperson for the Shizuoka prefectural police said that Ichikawa had been on sick leave for an undisclosed illness since June of last year and approached the department on Tuesday to discuss returning to work.

Just another log on the "only in Japan" fire. And I mean that in the kindest way possible. That's the great thing about Japan, who needs drugs? it's just weird. You just go outside, look around and think about what you're seeing, and you're altered.

    Boy do I miss it.

  • 0

    jonobugs

Okay, so hair-licking is illegal. Thanks for the heads up.

What is the charge? Gross but licking is a crime?

I have to agree with Hoserfella on this one. While seemingly harmless (albeit weird) it's a form of sexual assault, the same way spitting on someone is an assault.

  • -1

    hoserfella

Jonobugs- there's nothing seemingly harmless about it. It's sexual assault just the same as if he'd grabbed her ass. How would u feel if this greasy pig did the same to your daughter or wife, gf, whatever?

And it's not the job which drives them insane, it's them who already mentally handicapped from the beginning and the cure for those sck prverted asholes it's nothing but a good old fashion broken nose!

  • -4

    rustyspanner

It's sexual assault just the same as if he'd grabbed her ass.

And away down the rabbit hole we go!

If a man pushes a woman out of anger, and brushes her breast, do we call it sexual assault?

If a man touches a woman's foot to satiate his foot fetish, is that sexual assault? How do we know he has a foot fetish anyway? Beat it out of him?

Is it sexual assault if the woman feels it is or the man thinks it is? Or if hoserfella thinks it is? Maybe we should just call all instances of males touching females without consent "sexual assault", unless the man can prove he is gay?

In the end, sexual assault is just not quite on the up and up. Punishing motive always gets a bit silly. Its all battery in my view and should just be punished in degrees of offense to the victim. No sense in a separate category, and no need either.

  • 4

    Ben Jack

There is no rabbit hole. There is just common sense:

If a man pushes a woman out of anger, and brushes her breast, do we call it sexual assault?

Probably not if there was no obvious intent to touch it.

If a man touches a woman's foot to satiate his foot fetish, is that sexual assault?

Yes, it is assault if the intentional touching is not wanted.

How do we know he has a foot fetish anyway? Beat it out of him?

Umm, you just said the action was to satiate his foot fetish, so obviously he has one in this case. What the heck is your point with this question?

Is it sexual assault if the woman feels it is or the man thinks it is?

It is sexual assault if it is intentional and unwanted on the part of the victim. It really is quite simple.

In the end, sexual assault is just not quite on the up and up.

Terribly sorry, but it is for the victims of it. I am not quite sure why you constantly want to rationalize such behavior and attempt to confuse the issue. Sexual assault and consentual actions are not nearly the same thing.

No sense in a separate category, and no need either.

I disagree completely. There are differences in sexual and racial offenses that affect the victims in profound ways in addition to any physical injuries that might occur. I believe it is very important to be sensitive to this and for laws related to these types of crimes to progress not devolve.

  • 0

    Kokuzi

When confronted with the accusation, Detective Ichikawa stated, "I knew it was wrong, but I wanted to be like my heroes, Detective Sherlick Holmes and Detective Lick Tracey... I also idolize those female detectives, Kinky & Lacey." This guy is a lickhead dickhead! But I'm glad he didn't idolize Colonbo...

  • 0

    gogogo

If a man touches a woman's foot to satiate his foot fetish, is that sexual assault?

Yes, it is assault if the intentional touching is not wanted.

So that means every time I get on the train every morning and get pushed and cramped around by other people which I do not want it is sexual assault?

    Your definition is too loose.

  • 2

    Ben Jack

So that means every time I get on the train every morning and get pushed and cramped around by other people which I do not want it is sexual assault?

If they are touching you with the intent to sexually assault you, it is sexual assault. Amazing that this has to be explained.: Intent to assault + sexual = sexual assault.

Assult or Sexual assult, That is the question.

I think it's really up to how the "Lickee" describes the "Licker" and the circumstances that lead up to the "Licking" in the first place.

    Gurukun,

    Exactly.

  • 1

It is battery. And it is probably simple assault, but only if she was scared.

I don't think you can go as far as sexual assault, but it depends on the local definition. Sexual assault is normally a toned down word for rape and carries various degrees depending on the state/country.

This is not new. A friend of mine, pretty foreign girl, was on the train back in 91'. She felt some strange tension in her very long hair. She turned around and the guy behind hers head went around too. Turns out he had swallowed all of her hair into his mouth. It was an amazing site because she had quite long hair. How that guy got all the hair in his mouth without alerting her was incredible.

Without reading the comments it seems to me that you have a lonely cop problem! At least their only licking hair and pinching ass! Here in the good ole USA and more specifically Memphis, we have cops that have been jailed for rape, drugs, and more! It got to the point that the police chief was ridiculed for not getting things under control! NOw he is replace by someone that understands the mess and is taking a hard line on his blue light troopers! Cop or no cop, he would be mine if a cop ever touched my daughter! He wouldn't see me coming, he would be on his knees holding his manhood for dear life! That being said! Not all cops are bad and I understand the job and the dregs of society they have to deal with each day! But the main reason they exist is to serve and protect! Never think a cop can protect anything! They usually only chase the bad guys because they themselves were maybe once one of the bad guys! At least once a week there is some cop or local political figure in the local news! I suppose no one is perfect but It's just freakin job not a lifestyle! But the good old buddy system sucks em in to become partners in crime! NOt all but one is too many!

From the "Encyclopedia of Unusual S Practises":

Trichophilia: refers to hair fetishes. Tripsolagnia - arousal from having hair manipulated or shampooed. ... A Time (May 18, 1992) article referred to a judge who was arrested by state troopers. It appears that the judge offered a "defendant leniency if he let the judge shampoo his hair. Further, suggested His Honor, the young man could get even more leniency if he brought in friends for a wash and rinse as well..."

Apparently you have no idea how weird our world is.

Well seeing as this was a police officer that had a gun on him during the time this sexual assault was committed......it's kind of amazing that japan's mental health screening for police officer applicants didn't catch this, you gotta question how safe you feel with Japanese cops with guns on them compared to american cops that have guns on them.

I had to laugh when someone said licking her hair wasn't a sexual offense. Really? I mean why else would this weirdo do so? Perhaps her hair smelled like cotton candy, so he wanted to find out if her hair tastes as good as it smelled? FFS get a clue.

Also why can't the Japanese commit American style crimes? LOL wow! Be glad the Japanese don't commit so many of foreign crimes that have results that are 9/10 deadly. I rather my wife be creeped out by some weirdo who licked her hair vice a rape, robbery, or worse.
