An attack on Yokosuka base and no comments from Taka.
This is very suspicious.
The domestic terrorists had better be very careful with their aim. It would be very easy to hit something on Yokosuka base that actually belongs to the JMSDF.
To keep Japan out of trouble. It's worked for over 60 years. They seem to like it. Do you see daily mass protests against the bases?
A history lesson for Sarge and NeoJamal ...They use to have weekly mass protests against American bases back in the early 1970's I know this because I was stationed there and was on riot control duty (Yokosuka and Mt. Fuji USMC).

"As far as this rocket bomb incident is concerned... All these comments mean nothing at the end of the day because no one commenting here is going to do anything any way - whether you are in Japan or not! What matters is finding out who did it and that's up to the Japanese Police and the Japanese who reported it(Their Country). This is all a decoy, no matter who you are. (One up)"
And yet you bother to reply since your own word clearly indicates that it wont change a thing here w/ all these comments? Owned!
Thanks Crustacean - Entertainment is indeed the sport of cowards - everyone else is in the news, jail or dead/ unknown - in relation to the Rocket bombs launched near U.S. naval base in Yokosuka of course.
apology? If an US citizen in the US blew up a Toyota in front of the Japanese embassy I doubt any government official would apologise. Does a country have to apologise every time an idiot does something to a foreign entity.
cwhite - That was a really bad comparison. If a US citizen blew up a Japanese Embassy in the states the US government would be apologizing and finding out who did it. That can be taken as an act of war. It's just a sad day when people think that it’s nothing serious. If the person that was setting off the pipe bombs was shot and killed would you guys be saying the same thing or would the security that is on the base be wrong for killing someone that was attacking the base?
I think that they should find the guy and then he gets his punishment after going to trail. With the 99.9% conviction rate he will get the max. See everyone wins.

The story is for real and it's far from the first time this happens in japan. I'd say there as been at least a dozen homemade rocket attacks on US bases in japan since the 60's by communist elements or just plain "America Go Home" folks.
Actually every single act of terrorism I can remember in Japan can be traced to japanese people. Yet it's foreigners that have to be tracked.
Ok well maybe some of my fellow Yokosuka residents are on vacation, because I am not seeing more detail posted here. First the so called rocket materials were found in the Shiori station area of Yokosuka Chuo. (Not far from where the taxi Cab driver was stabbed.. hmm!?!?! ) This area and projected target location could only be toward the Yokosuka base. Problem is there is not very much of the US Naval Installation exposed on that side. To the right of the terrorist view you have Diaei Shopping center, all 10 stories high. Then to the left of that is Truman bay and 2 small US Security boats for bay patrol. Then a dry dock used by everybody, not just the US. Then to the left and back from there is a very large JMSDF Communications facility. To the left of that is 2 JMSF subs moored and barracks and support facilities for the Japanese Navy. From there to the left is Tokyo bay. Swing further left and you have the JMSDF Naval port with their Aegis class destroyer and support ships. SO really the fools who thought of this had absolutely no chance of hitting a US Naval installation or ship. And in fact may have hit a Japanese Navy ship or facility thus mottling the idea that it is a right wing attack on a US Facility. They could have hit the sixth floor of the Diaei. Any idiot with access to Google Earth could have found a better place to make their point than Shiori. There are in fact so many security weaknesses in the CFAY installation its amazing that more hasn’t occurred. So I am inclined to think as some others do that it is and was a show of force to say “hey we are still here and relevant.

This should be treated as a terror attack. The US and Japanese media should cover this incident extensively.
Japan terrorists, where are the apologies to the US, where are the demonstrators against this attack?
Strangley silent, beautifull Japan.

I meant to say trial.

No need to worry...pure novices at work. Why half step? If they wanted to do something it would be more serious I am sure.
