Saipan court rejects Miura's bail request

SAIPAN —

The local court in Saipan again rejected the bail request by Kazuyoshi Miura on Thursday, who has been detained there since his arrest on murder and conspiracy charges in February.

While his defense lawyers will appeal the decision to the top court of Saipan, his detention will be prolonged further. Miura, 60, was arrested in Saipan, an island in the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, on Feb 22 and is being detained in connection with the fatal shooting of his wife Kazumi, 28, in 1981. She was traveling in Los Angeles at the time.
