TOYAMA —
A 37-year-old police detective was arrested for attempted theft on Sunday, after he allegedly tried to steal a woman’s underwear from a room aboard the Twilight Express, a sleeper train traveling from Sapporo to Osaka.
Keisuke Noda, an assistant inspector at Omiya police station in Saitama Prefecture, is accused of entering a staff room aboard the overnight express just before 6 a.m. Sunday, in which a female employee was sleeping. The woman woke up to find Noda going through her luggage and holding a pair of her panties. She called out to him, and he fled the room, but she chased after him. Noda was handed over to police when the train stopped at JR Toyama station.
Noda initially told police in Toyama that he was a part-time employee at a convenience store, but his identity was confirmed from his driving license and a call to his family. Noda had taken holiday leave from Sept 5 to 8, and was traveling by himself. He has admitted to the allegations.l

I just makes me so angry that they get arrested for stupidities like that whilst those committing real crimes get away with it.

Well foxie, if the cops are out stealing panties it is only natural that people committing REAL CRIMES get away.....

People shouldn't be so quick to get mad at this individual. He might have been following Japanese Police Department Handbook Policy.

Maybe they need to have more vending machines with soiled panties so that these poor guys don't have to go around stealing from poor unsuspecting women....... or they should just issue each cop a few pairs of ladies underwear instead of a gun ..

I can see some business opportunity here. Im gonna open used ladies' undies for men shop. Like they have for recycle shops. Inventory would be easy to obtain. Just buy new undies and have them worn by girl volunteers and sometimes men(after all, customers will not know who wore it). Then let them return them unwashed so that I can display in my shop. Business plan development is still in progress. Anyone with any suggestion is much welcomed.

Bad Benny Hill skit, knickers and all. Being a cop makes even more so. (Cue "Yakety Sax" as he runs off.)

I wonder if they will really make the film 'Shita-gi-O-mawari-Dorobo'.

Ah, the last train of the day from Kakizaki to Naoetsu, and the cheapest way to get from Niigata to Kyoto - I've taken this train quite a few times. Fortunately I was never assailed by a knicker nicker, though.

SmithinJapan. Yeah. There was a case of a police officer accused of feeling them or something. He denied it. Only witness was her boyfriend.
But I guess cases like this cast a pall over the whole force.
Fetish or no fetish, digging through other people's luggage is way over the line. For a police officer to do it is just terrible.

The risks far outweighed the pleasures in this one
