Serial bag snatcher suspect arrested in Tokyo

Police in Tokyo have arrested an unemployed 23-year-old man on suspicion of theft after he rode his bicycle up behind a woman cyclist and stole her handbag out of the basket on the front of her bike.

According to police, the suspect, Daiki Kondo, stole a handbag from a 67-year-old woman as she rode her bike in Setagaya Ward in April, Fuji TV reported. The bag contained about 60,000 yen, police said.

Police said Kondo was identified through street surveillance camera footage and that he has admitted his involvement in nine other similar thefts in March and April -- all involving women riding bicycles.

Kondo was quoted by police as saying he needed money for living expenses and playing pachinko.

Wow! At least he's honest. Why not just get a job?

Yes, he got a fast and snappy way to make a fast buck without doing the job interview. Now he'll end up getting into prison costing him dear. Hope he'll have a more decent job after being released from prison.
