Shizuoka woman held for prostituting 15-yr-old daughter to 71-yr-old ex-husband
SHIZUOKA —
A 55-year-old woman was arrested under child prostitution and child pornography laws on Wednesday, accused of forcing her 15-year-old daughter to engage in indecent behavior with her ex-husband – a 71-year-old man she was married to after she got divorced from her original husband with whom she had the girl.
Police accuse the woman, a part-time employee, of taking her daughter to her second ex-husband’s house in Shizuoka City in June last year, forcing her to engage in indecent behavior. Police said the woman received about 20,000 yen from him and gave her daughter about 10,000 yen from that.
Police said the case came to light when the man went to the Shizuoka Central police station and confessed last month. They said they intend to a pursue charge against him also under child prostitution and child pornography laws. The girl told police her mother forced her to do it, and the woman has admitted to the allegation, telling police she needed money.

Agreed, this is just so vile. No other way to say it. Happy the guy came forward, but damn... The only positive on this I guess would be, at least the mom didn't force her to hook up with some stranger. Not that this is any better on any level.

We all need money! Should we all get engaged into prostitution? What is the other hope for people that are strugling for their daily bread and butter. Girl was stupid enough listening to her mother, she should left her home, find herself a job and have good life ahead of her. All three should be charged and locked up for a while.

Bloody sick. All that for just a handful of money, and once it's spent they have to live with it for the rest of their lives. I'm sure the mother has no problems with it, but the psychological scars for the daughter could be extreme, and life-altering (in a bad way). I hope she gets a hefty sentence, and the girl gets some help. The old guy should probably face some sort of punishment as well.

Too bad for the kid... who's gonna bring her up now? What was this mother thinking? Divorced twice? Working part-time only? No child-support? (or not enough?) Not that I'm a perfect parent, but this woman doesn't deserve to be a mother and yet she is. The worst thing is, there's probably many more parents like this that haven't been caught yet.

Sounds like they only got caught in this act becuase the ex had a guilty conscience. I am taking it like the mother daughter have worked like this before and the daughter is ok with it. Why split it half way if the mom needs money? What is a 15 year old going to do with 10,000 yen? Buy clothes, shoes and make up? Got to remember, these young ones are influenced by the TV and being all so cute. Some of them are still working the streets to get that money from men anyway they can.

This is why I'm happy for another story in JT that television may be on the bring of obsolescence. Not that Japanese TV programming is totally responsible for these kinds of things, but it definitely has an influence. Women on JTV are always bikini clad doing nonsensical things to make money. Girls grow up watching this and think that the only way to make a quick buck is by showing some skin and/or having no self worth. How many J-women have a dream to be Doctors, Lawyers, Business owners? It's a sad situation, but I think it goes deeper than just a mother prostituting her daughter. I think it goes deep to the root of J-women mentality that they think their only tool for making money is their body.

It's good he had a conscience, but it's bad that he couldn't control himself to hold off. I wouldn't doubt the mom really tried to coerce him into this by the sound of it and by him turning himself in later. I know, it could have been other reasons, but that's what it intially sounds like to me. Anyway... onward!

Yes, and I like the way how they put on a loving parent facade and go around doing senseless things. J people go on a world tour and see how the other nations are tackling the same financial and other problems which are NO DIFFERENT to yours are managing.

Seems like another bad case of "no self worth," on the adults behalf, which seems to be very common here. When adults degrade a childs esteem by acts like this, it clearly shows that the adults themselves have been "pimped" and have self value issues that they have not addressed yet.

Ok lets start by saying it's a sick case but why in hell would the ex-husband just go in and freely confess? I don't quite buy that the mother was able to force the girl into this, my guess is the correct translation would be coerce.

If the J majority does not approve this then why such incidents are rampant? No point just saying that you do not approve the acts of these criminals who are only a minority of the J population. Do something about it. Take this as a case in point and make people aware the consequences of such an act. First of all, the majority population can encourage everyone to seek help in matters like this.

There are posters at schools that do just that. In a general sense mind you, and not clearly after being forced to prostitute by mom. That would be...excessive.

Basis for thinking- read JT news, watch NHK news, read Seicho Matsumoto and talk to Japanese freinds. Someone has instilled in their minds that when you have problems, one can do anything like killing, stealing or lying but never beg.Asking for help is losing your pride, self-respect or dignity.
So rather than ask friends, immediate family or neighbours for help, the woman sought to find money using her daughters body.I love it when people dress up, look nice, etc but just imagine the amount of money and time people here give towards vanity. Most certainly, that is going to take its toll at some point in their lives. This is the result. So people should be made aware of this. Read After school notes by ...Yamada: tells very clearly the thinking of the young ones about beauty, love, prostitution, values..

Dear God! Its worse than I thought. This is a nice list of ways to completely NOT get a proper handle on the big picture. A pile of individual incidents in a country of 127,000,000 people is not enough to declare anything "rampant". And neither JT nor NHK feels it has any responsibility to clue you in as to the big picture. All they care about is getting you to read or watch, and all news is hand picked to do just that.
