Smartphones stolen from stores in Ibaraki, Tochigi
IBARAKI —
Smartphones worth several million yen were stolen from cell phone retailers in Ibaraki and Tochigi prefectures early Saturday morning in what police believe may have been connected incidents.
At around 2 a.m., someone smashed the front window of a cell phone store in Chikusei, Ibaraki Prefecture, and stole devices, including 17 smartphones, worth around 1.94 million yen, TV Asahi reported. Two hours later in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture, a similar burglary occurred in which devices, including smartphones, worth around 1.8 million yen were stolen.
