she appeared in commercials and recreated her image as that of a good mother in a happy family.

A lot of those J-housewives are good for the crazy institution. Sakai-san could overcome her condition by taking drugs and becoming a fugitive. That's better than wearing an apron and gossiping about Yamada-san who can't sort the garbage.

Oh, puleeeeeeeeze! Do JP media want to dramatize the story of a fallen celebrity just like Anna Nichole Smith??? And what an irony for her choosing a wrong path!!! I have no sympathy for her. She did exactly opposite to what she was doing 16 years ago. That's a huge disappointment!

you're all over the shop with this one chief. media can't dramatise it but you can? puleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!

I'm afraid that the police had been checking the couple because they had noticed the two seemed to be into some kind of drug business. Could be they were visiting the wrong persons too often to be mere users. Obviously, they could get the warrant to investigate her house before she had time to do the o-bon cleaning. The police didn't give all the details, they reveal what is necessary for investigation.

The drug awareness campaign she did meant nothing, she was on duty, like if she was selling a brand of shampoo. Surely she is pretty, she is good at doing the actress pop star, but that doesn't mean she is smart and mentally stable. The hubby doesn't seem to be the brighter bulb on the Xmas tree either. The big gangster love using naive or desesperate people to buy and even deliver their dope. She should have listened to her management.

so they got a warrant for tossing her house. They have probable on him and she can be an accessory to using unless they found it in her underwear but still if she can sweat it out they can arrest her for possession or using. They cant prove it was hers and she can deny it if she has a clean test.

So, out of curioisity, what are "stimulant drugs"? Heroine? Speed? Coke? Just seems so unusual to be labeled stimulant drugs.

  • koneko22 at 07:22 AM JST - 8th August

Too many variables here...this drama would make a great educational TV series....the couple's child is sadly...an innocent victim...Were this "happy couple" in divorce proceedings or legal separation ??

  • Osakadaz at 09:07 AM JST - 8th August

my wife told me that they DNA tested some of her hair found in her home. I was at a hospital yesterday and they had the TV on..this was headline news. 2nd story was a policeman caught in Sumiyoshi station's female toilets perving at women. 3rd story was a man in Osaka drugging and raping a woman 4th story was a 19 yo couple in Tokyo abandoning their newborn in a bicycle basket, causing the baby's death.

BIGGER fish to fry,Japan!!! They will hound this woman to her suicide..she already sounds a bit unstable. The Japanese infatuation with these B-grade famous only in Japan 'stars' is pathetic.

Here's the way I foresee this going down:

Noripi is obviously very smart. Okay, not smart enough to stay way from illicit drugs but smart enough to know she doesn't have to go with the cops to the koban unless they have probable cause; smart enough to know that going on the lam with a 10 year old would be impossible and abandoning him would compound her crimes so hands him over to some friends; and smart enough to know to turn off your cell phone when you don't want to be found.

Okay. Spend a week or as long as you can in detox to get whatever drugs from the night in question out of your system, thus eliminating the usage crime. Originally, I figured she would come out later and claim she never did drugs but if DNA testing on hair turns up a history of drug abuse, that will throw a bit of a spanner in the works. No matter. She can improvise.

Once she is reasonably sure she has detoxed herself, she turns herself in. It is important that she turns herself in rather than have the cops find her. That shows remorse.

She then contacts her husband through her lawyer and explains the way the world works. She says:

"Honey, look. You and I both know that I am the bread winner in this family. If you want to continue your so called 'pro-surfer' lifestyle, you will shut up and do as I say. First, you say, that the drugs were all yours. DNA evidence is probably going to show my history of use so I am going to have to say it was you that lead me down that path. You shut up and take it."

She appears on ALL tv stations (including NHK) apoligising in front of a live press conference soon after been released on bail. If a drug history is known, she blames her husband. If the DNA history isn't made public (unlikely) she could still claim she never did drugs but that would be a risk if some of her 'friends' were to come forward saying they had seen her do stuff. No time to buy them all off. Too risky. Come clean and say your usage was limited to "only a couple of times and didn't really like it. My druggie husband forced me."

These clips appear on tv for about 2 weeks or so. She stays as far out of the limelight as possible after the conference. Documents are sent to the prosecutors. If she is lucky, they decide not to prosecute (the prosecutor is a huge Noripi fan, after all.) If she isn't so lucky (evidence of prolonged abuse) she gets sent to try. Shed a couple more alligator tears for the judge (also a Noripi fan) showing all kinds of remorse.

Trial ends. She is given a suspended sentence. She continues to stay out of the limelight. The few times she is seen, she is showing herself as the caring mother of a 10-year (making sure he goes to school, shows up at is school events, etc.) She gets a number of her geino friends (preferably big names) to say she has been really good, is a good mother, and is ready to come back to the limelight.

A little while after the suspended sentence ends (probably only lasted a couple of months anyway) she holds another press conference saying she was sorry for all the trouble she has caused and is now clean and sober and will never go near the demon drugs again. She has, for the moment, reconciled with her husband who has been thrown to the wolves as a corrupting influence but she is standing by him and is helping him reform (isn't she a wonderful wife?) He likely got a suspended sentence as well, if he is lucky. If he gets busted again, she fills out a divorce form on his behalf and apoligises again for her good for nothing husband and washes her hands of him for the benefit of her son (isn't she a wonderful mother?)

She does her best to stay on the straight and narrow (or at least is a LOT more discreet.) If she stays clean, good on her. If she gets busted again, she has a LOT more work to do to get back into the geino world. Usually, on the second incident though, you are "encouraged" to retire permanently. (Cf. Tashiro Masashi.)

There's no way that beautiful women is addicted to meth. Have you seen the effects of meth on the human body? Her hubby on the other hand looks like a user.

I wouldn't be surprised if she smokes a little weed once in a while... but if she were doing meth we'd be able to tell by her facial deterioration.

  • roppongidaisuki at 01:34 PM JST - 8th August

I guess none of you are New Zealanders. In New Zealand the most damaging and infamous drug is called P.Short for pure meth.so you can see why I laughed when I heard Noriko`s nickname. Agree with Tune in Tokyo.Very unlikely she does a lot of meth.A bit of weed and the odd E when she goes out for a dance. Why people see anything wrong with that is completely beyond me. Have to agree though with the poster who explained how meth or heroin addicts break into random cars and houses to pay for their next fix. That is a problem.A big problem that Japan can do without. I reckon they should have government shops where you could buy a small amount of weed, cocaine and one E (good quality) every month with an ID card.Anyone caught with meth or heroin or selling any kind of drug would have the book thrown at them. I have been taking moderate amounts of those harmless recreational drugs for 30 years with zero ill effect At least this "incident" is provoking discussion which can only be good.

  • roppongidaisuki at 01:42 PM JST - 8th August

What drugs do the Police say they found at her house and how much? Or do they keep that kind of thing secret. In New Zealand you would struggle to find a 20-50 year old actor/model/singer WITHOUT drugs in their house LOL Would probably be huge news if the Police searched their house and found nothing.

Woman. Perhaps she just tried once what her husband coaxed her into. We can only guess at this time.

saw on j news that noripi's younger brother was arrested last month in fukuoka for possession of 'kakuseizai' after a traffic accident. the brother gave the names of his sister and her husband as fellow users which prompted the police to follow mr and mrs noripi. they were set up! report also said drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in the house.

  • belax at 02:36 PM JST - 8th August

just heard that noripi's younger bro is in a major yakuza group. was arrested for extortion, acting in an odd manner, leading to: positive urine test. then he named his sister and b-i-l as fellow users.

  • presto345 at 02:55 PM JST - 8th August

I have a feeling this story has no happy end and it fills me with sadness because I like Noriko. Why Yamaguchi Gumi hasn't been declared illegal is beyond me.
