I'm glad to see that Japan Today is just one of the many media sources pushing this story while pretty much ignoring the one about the actress' husband who left a woman to die. Both stories involve drugs but one the one with the dead woman is somehow less important. Is it because the dead woman was a hostess? Because the stars involved don't shine as brightly? Or because the owner of the apartment she died in has links to most of the Japanese entertainment world as well as many politicians?

Moderator: We haven't ignored the Oshio at all. Have a look at the long story in the Shukan Post section, for example.

biglittleman: Google, "faces of meth" and you'll get a most unpleasant slideshow on what meth does to the face and teeth.

biglittleman, Sakai case is being followed by trained personnel. Very easy for them to identify for how long she has been using etc. The assessment of personnel are good enough but tests are done for documentation and evidence. You can use the best and the most expensive moisturiser in the world. It does not help, it shows.

As some have questioned here, there is a reason why they keep flashing her Nightclub revelry over and over again; as well as the Sakai photos from the time she started getting fame. As Ambrosia suggested, google for more info. Clue: Sakai's hair loss.

As for her husband, easy to say what he was upto. For Sakai, I feel sad 'cos she had to face some sad things in her life. But it bothers me that she did not think for a moment about the life of the son.

ambrosia, the meth users here are smart. They do a lot of things to prevent the damage. Many supplements which kind of prevent the damage. There are many skin applications that give some sort of bearable look. But yet for all, you can see through the moisturisers that the natural moisture has been depleted due to substance abuse.

"Meanwhile, Sakai has told investigators that she began using stimulants in the summer of 2008 on the advice of her husband."

They weren't vitamins intended to improve your health, they were amphetamines. If you can't say no to such advice, you still have only yourself to blame. Stop with the lame excuses, sweetie. Apologize, pay your dues, and get on with things.

    Why skin and teeth damage?

    FYI...

Meth was a invented by the Japanese...check out wikipedia for more info or read below:

Methamphetamine was first synthesized from ephedrine in Japan in 1893 by chemist Nagayoshi Nagai.[6] In 1919, crystallized methamphetamine was synthesized by Akira Ogata via reduction of ephedrine using red phosphorus and iodine.

Post-war use After World War II, a large supply of amphetamine stockpiled by the Japanese military became available in Japan under the street name shabu (also Philopon, pronounced Hiropon, a tradename)[9]. The Japanese Ministry of Health banned it in 1951; since then it has been increasingly produced by the yakuza criminal organization.[10] Today methamphetamine is still associated with the Japanese underworld, and its use is discouraged by strong social taboos.

Just thought you would all like to know a little more about the history of Meth.

Also, in my opinion the husband is a low life snitch rat. Rats on his wife and his dealer. He has more to worry about now than the local police. Good luck pal. No more hanging 10 for you.

  • Butcer at 09:41 PM JST - 15th August

Because snorting amphetamines causes you to loose your noise, you sweat alot when your on meth and your immune systems get's weak after you do a meth tour that last up to 2 weeks.

You loose your teeth because you do not produce any saliva when you use meth , so a person who is on a meth tour for a week has not produces any saliva during that time and that causes your mouth to rot literaly, no vitamins can fix the damage that meth does to your brain

@Butcer - "after you do a meth tour that last up to 2 weeks"

I can't imagine that. The one time I did meth ( this is a really long time ago ) I felt like Superman for a few hours, then felt really, really bad for the next 24 hours.
I don't recommend meth or any other stimulants except for the stimulant contained in coffee and Pepsi.

Moderator: All readers back on topic please.

Sakai is not innocent as we all think. Sakai, the husband, the girlffriend and the son were all living under one roof. It is a totally different scenario now.

Rockballs, here is the confirmation of your infomation along with other facts about Speed in Japan. http://www.a1b2c3.com/drugs/amp04.htm

She's sweet, innocent and put herself forward as such in order to obtain a certain image.

Now that it's all fallen apart.... who cares?

How many man-years are being spent by the Jcops to track down the information on this "danger to society" and her hubby?
