Suspect in woman's murder says he started thinking about killing her last year

Police said Wednesday that the suspect in the stabbing murder of a 35-year-old woman in Musashi-Murayama, Tokyo, bought the knife the day before her death on Feb 10, but said he had been thinking about killing the woman since last year.

According to police, Yoko Kobayashi, 35, was stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend, Hiroyuki Iwai, in her apartment. Iwai had lived with the victim for about two weeks last October, Fuji TV reported.

Iwai was quoted by police as saying, "After she ended our relationship last October, I started thinking of killing her and how I might do it if I had the chance." He told police he bought the knife at a household goods shop in Ome on Feb 9.

Fuji TV reported that after the couple broke up, Kobayashi consulted with police, saying she was worried because Iwai took a key to her apartment with him. Iwai also filed a complaint with police, claiming that Kobayashi was demanding money.

Well, so much for your "I killed her in the heat of passion" defense, moron!!

How do you know she wasn't seriously considering to make things work with him, and realized right away that there was something wrong with him? After all, he has shown that he is a waste of skin by killing this girl, it's not a far stretch to think he wouldn't be a good guy to live with.

And how do you know why she was pressuring him for money? Maybe she lent him some, and she was just pushing him to pay her back.

Fact is, she's dead. He did it. Motive aside, he's scum and will always be such, she is without life and who knows what would have become of that?

Talk about premeditated

Hmmm, yet he's still a 'suspect'? Does he not become the killer until he's formally convicted, even if he has said that he did it?

Changing the locks is expensive but worth every penny.

This kind of admission is why U.S. attorneys tell defendants to shut their mouth. The Japanese legal system is so backwards, and it is statements like this that points out how backwards it can be.

Anyway, I hope the obligatory gomenesais do not save him from a new (or used) rope.

Considering the news about the 17 year old girl stabbed by the 35 year old ex, I am awful curious how old the 35 year old woman's ex was in this case.

See, I would like to make a case of why only a crazy man with maturity issues would date a 35 year old woman. Maybe only men who date 60 year olds can be considered safe and stable?
