I still hope that this really is the perp, and not just solution of convenience for the cops.
If it just didn´t sound so pat... the local village idiot did it...
Not all drowning causes entry of water into the lungs: 'If water enters the airways of a conscious victim the victim will try to cough up the water or swallow it thus inhaling more water involuntarily. Upon water entering the airways, both conscious and unconscious victims experience laryngospasm, that is the larynx or the vocal cords in the throat constrict and seal the air tube. This prevents water from entering the lungs. Because of this laryngospasm, water enters the stomach in the initial phase of drowning and very little water enters the lungs. Unfortunately, this can interfere with air entering the lungs, too. In most victims, the laryngospasm relaxes some time after unconsciousness and water can enter the lungs causing a "wet drowning". However, about 10-15% of victims maintain this seal until cardiac arrest, this is called "dry drowning" as no water enters the lungs. In forensic pathology, water in the lungs indicates that the victim was still alive at the point of submersion. Absence of water in the lungs may be either a dry drowning or indicates a death before submersion.' Wikipedia
interesting info, but still makes you wonder if the J-coroner knows what they are doing, I suspect not, doubt they even thought to check by the sounds of it.
JT whats up with this guy being described as unemployed didnt you just run a blurb where it sort of quoted conversations with hi co-workers joking that me did it but he denied it........too weird
Police are playing 'dominos for three month and case is still not close. What is going on? Shouldn't investigators be assigned to investigate case permanently until the end? It doesn't three month for sure to twist around this killer to 'confess in total.' Why wasting taxpayers money for so long? At the end shrink will find him insane at the time of crime, and sooner or later he will be free. Am I right?
This investigation seems to be a throw together case formed by various disjointed pieces of fabricated tinkering than a real solid case. A smart judge may throw out this baby with the bath water.
antizombie: The problem of this country is hentai with little girls as protagonists. It is really perverted and such crimes happen.
So, do you believe this guy did the crime or that somebody else did and he is just a fall guy? I have heard no reports of this guy having such material, and in such cases, even in Japan, that sort of thing is quickly publicized. So I guess it must have been someone else?
Also, are you arguing that the murder of children is more prevalent in Japan, and its because of the manga? So, I have ask why places without the manga also have murdered children and other crimes against children too. And will the crimes lessen substantially if the manga disappear?
I am no fan of manga myself. But I am even less a fan of presumptious hogwash. None of us have any clue why this poor little girl was murdered. The cops can't even seem to figure out how she died!
Monster? The guy is the village idiot, and so far the only reason to think he did it is that that J-police says so. Which you can take for what it it is worth.
(I do hope that in this case they fra.. err, got the right right one.)
In all countries, police are generally forbidden from giving out details of death while an investigation is ongoing. This is simply because it's one tool to identify suspects - many suspects are identified because they know only what the murderer knew, and preventing leaks is the only way to make that stick.
But this being JT the home of internet trolldom, of course it's all up to incompetent "J-Cops".
If what this guy says was true why was the girl following him. At 5 I would not let my child, boy or girl walk home unescorted. I think we need to reevaluate the responsibilities of the schools. Measures need to be taken to assure all children, not just mine, are safe. We are giving up our future by not looking after the little ones. If both parents are productive citizens then the goverment should also play a part, hell it might create a new service industry and provide new jobs for older japanese.
