BANGKOK —
A Japanese gangster suspected of murdering a rival gangster in Kanagawa Prefecture last July was arrested in the Thai capital on Sunday, a diplomatic source said Tuesday.
Kenichi Anai, 40, was found using a fake passport while living in Bangkok, the official said. He is said to be a member of the Sumiyoshi gang. Thai immigration police are scheduled to hold a press conference Wednesday to announce the arrest.

Caught in Thailand. Why? Because the J police wouldn't touch him. Why chase scary real criminals when you could be chasing gaijins on bicycles.

Lock him up and keep him in THAILAND! If he's extradicted back to Japan he'll just be let off, or if imprisoned be treated like a king in there. Throw him in Big Tiger... or whatever the max prison is called in BGK.

Yep, he'll probably be given a suspended sentence or just walk away scott-free as the japanese criminal he is. A foreign guy would have just be given the harshest sentence you can imagine. Kudos to the Thai-Cops!

He should of fled to the Phillipines. At least in jail, he gets to dance choreographed numbers like ''Thriller'' or whatever MJ songs they do.

Spanish, what are you talking about? Too funny. Thai cops are good. A Thai Detective pulled a gun on me in a toilet in Bankok. That was a lot of fun.

What is it with the Japanese foreign ministry that enables it to issue passports to members of organised criminal syndicates?? Is this part of Japan's export strategy?
stirfry at 01:21 PM JST - 10th February
nope...there's just no difference between organized crime and the j-govt

Fake passports in Thailand..... you get the book unless you have the cash without a wanted charge for murder. I have done business there and they hate Yaks.... This dude is well-done.... if he gets 1 year in the BKK Hilton, he is surely finished. Trust me, there is more than just one hiding there, PI and Indo....

If the Thais hate Japanese Yakuza, they are my kind of people! Bravo to the Thai police of catching this Japanese mafia scum in their lovely country! Maybe they can get an angry Thai elephant to give him a real hard foot massage?
