About time some real punishment is dished out in this country

  • smithinjapan at 09:05 AM JST - 26th November

I'm surprised he wasn't 'fired, suspended for two years'.

  • Proffessor at 09:20 AM JST - 26th November

    Is that all?

He will be charged with the crime and prosecuted, right?

What was his blood alcohol level???

Is that not an important part of being arrested for drunk driving???

Only in civilized countries, not here.

medievaltimes - I doubt it. It was probably just a "regrettable" incident.

It is hard to know when you are still being affected by alcohol or just sleepy in the morning. The article calls it a "nap" but I would like to know how long he actually slept before driving. Course if he crashed because he was sleepy or "had the oldness" no one would be too upset. But even if the car he hit ran a red light and stopped right in front of him, its his fault for drinking. Nice to have everything all wrapped up and neat so we don't have to think.

GG2141 has asked some relevant questions.

if it wasn't so sad it would be funny, every time they say it is terrible but no change, until the next one

Moral of the story: next time pick the dope fiend.

Certainly he isn't good example for police force. C\ops should all be tested for boozse and drugs once a week. Do you think he is the only one, or he is an extraordinary 'ex-cop boozer?'

Got to love the irony but at least one more drunk is off the road.

I do love the trains in Japan though. And the walk from the station gives one time to sober up a bit and think of excuses....
