Tochigi underwear thief busted
TOCHIGI —
Police said Friday that they have arrested a man in Tochigi Prefecture for stealing underwear from the home of a female high school student. According to media reports, the man, identified as 24-year-old Naoya Nomoto, has been arrested before on similar charges.
Nomoto, a part-time factory worker, befriended the girl by cell phone email before asking for her home address, Nikkan Sports reported. Police say the girl emailed Nomoto her address. Police allege he illegally entered her home and stole 18 pairs of underwear.
A search was conducted of Nomoto’s home where police found around 280 items of underwear, according to Nikkan. Police are currently investigating the likelihood that he has committed other similar thefts.

Funny how the underwear theiving takes center stage. Its the trespassing that concerns me most. If I caught him stealing my wife's underwear, I might crack his skull, but it would be mostly for being a stranger daring to violate my property unnanounced, which is the sanctuary of my family.

I'll never understand these guys. Now, I'll admit, if I see a beautiful women walking down the street and catch a glimpse of her 'delicates', or see a model modeling lingerie, I may like it, but that's because there's a person WEARING them! It's like if the person you are with wears sexy lingerie -- if they take it off you don't pick up the LINGERIE and have at it. Anyway, fetishes are fetishes, I guess.
I agree with chewitup; while the underwear thing is perverse, it's a little odd that it is the focus in terms of crime. But I guess that was what led him to be caught.

'18 pairs of underwear' is 18 pairs of knickers, not 9 pairs of knickers and 9 bras (or 9 pairs of brassieres). The 280 items of underwear will be a mixed bag.
Matching bra and knickers are a set, not a pair. Non-matching bra and knickers are a bra and a pair of knickers.

The guy is not perverted for his interest in the female body or anything associated with it. Some men are into underwear and obtain them legally and consensually. Nothing wrong with that. The funny thing is that he was actually in the right path. He got her email, her home address....the next step should have been to invite her for coffee or cinema as a date. But then, he totally screwed up by entering her home illegally and stealing her panties.... Oh, well!
