TOKYO —
The Tokyo High Court on Friday concluded a hearing for former Livedoor Co President Takafumi Horie and set July 25 as the day to give a verdict on his appeal against a lower court ruling that sentenced him to 30 months in prison for fraud.
At the last session of the trial, where Horie was absent, his lawyer read the defendant’s message, saying he truly regrets his activities, which he said was intended to develop the stock market, eventually prompted citizens to “lose confidence” in the market.
