How do you even go to the police with this? "I was beaten up by a guy in a Winnie the Pooh suit."

Last time I remember a bloke was wearing a cute costume and attacking people, he was stabbing them. I am sure the police took it all quite seriously mate.

“I felt annoyed and wanted to terrify them.”

In a Pooh suit?...someone needs to really sit down and think his plans through next time!

well mugging isn't funny but his choice of uniform does deserve special praise. I would probably have gotten beaten up by this guy because I would have been laughing at him.

I'm just going to be so careful next time when I go to Tokyo Disneyland and ride the Huny hunt ... I might get mugged in there!!

    Some brilliant comments here.

I suppose the incongruity of the cartoon character could add to the feeling of bewilderment, but I'm not sure it would go as far as terror.

It does remind me of the first e-mail joke I ever read, back in 1994:

ok, here is the real story done by descent translators and reporters.

Japanese police have arrested a 20-year-old man who attacked and robbed two people after they stared at his Winnie-the-Pooh costume, officials have said.

Masayuki Ishikawa was hanging out on a Tokyo street corner after midnight last month while wearing the cuddly costume, accompanied by two friends dressed as a mouse and a panther, when he took offence at being stared at, police said.

"It's uncommon to see people dressed up like this, so the victims were watching them. Then the perpetrator came up and said 'What are you staring at?'" a police spokesman said.

Ishikawa and his friends beat up the two victims and stole US$160 from them, the spokesman said, adding the group had apparently donned the unusual garb because they had run out of clean clothes.

I think they would have used/spent their time better by staying at home & doing their laundry!

I'm afraid I would have lost it at that point.

    Food for Thought:

When Winnie-the-Pooh mugs someone, due to copyright laws, how much of the stolen goods does Winnie-the-Pooh have to share with Disney????
