I wonder if they picked their target from the cabs lining up at the rank?

The description is not going to help much.

66,000 yen? Pretty good for a cabby in Chiba......

what they need for taxis is a security window between driver and passengers, and a GPS system.

Fares go in a secure box. This story sounds fishy to me.

Poor woman. Even female drivers can't be sure to earn their bread and butter in peace. These two scam bags need very high penalty and also 20 strokes with cane. 'WHERE ARE PROTECTION EQUIPMENTS FOR TAXI DRIVERS?'

This should be an open and shut case right here! The keystones have a rock solid description of the perps... all they gotta do is find 2 guys in their 30's, 40's or 50's and keep them locked away in a dark corner while brow beating them until they confess! Viola, case closed!

These taxi robberies are becoming common-place and the taxi companies have got to set up protection for their drivers. In Sydney most of the night taxis are cash free using ATM networks, credit cards or a system similar to the SUICA cards called, Cabcharge. They also have clear acrylic barriers encapsulating the drivers. Not just a piece of acrylic behind the driver's head like in Japan. Time for Japan to start catching up.

Japan is known for its inventions, so why not invent a mechanism under the seat where-in the driver can press a button or activate a needle with a sedative so that these hold-ups can stop. hehe.

but i guess a bullet proof pane or cubicle around the driver would suffice.
