If they just wanted violence they could have knocked on my door. I fight dirty too, like any caveman. But I suspect they did not knock on my door because they wanted sex too. Most people don't find cavemen attractive.
They were arrested 3 weeks ago. After 3 weeks of Japanese style interrogation they probably also confessed to the JFK assassination, to being survivors and stowaways of the Apollo 13, and to being the love children of Mother Theresa.

As Caveman implied, it's not about sex and it's not about violence. It's about sexual violence.
Does this mean they said they'd be targetting women in the future? Sloppy writing.

Chemical castration. Do it to them.

Nobody can defend this. Rape is a violent crime, and these guys should be punished if they did this.
Saying that, was this a confession that promises them a lenient sentence? In the absence of legal assistance? Maybe they said they did this to get out of the interrogation room.
And if they indeed targeted junior high girls, then these guys need some California justice, San Quentin general population style.......

At first I couldn't understand the meaning of "so far". But when I asked my retired policeman friend, he said that many other victims haven't come forward, and might never do so. I misinterpreted it to mean they'd be let go and do more of the same, heaven forbid.

So true! Too many of these little wimp Japanese guys have never been to the school of hard knocks to be taught what's what! They live a virtual lawless lifestyle. This is only two wimps from one prefecture. How many more are there? How many more girls have been molested? How can foreigners get these little wimps alone for a lesson in what's what without being deported?

There are probably many that will never be found out. There needs to be more laws to give women or male victims of rape reason to report them. So far many do not, which is sad to say being that more people become victims until the perv is caught.

I think the focus should be prevention. The trouble is that people have trouble being open and frank about sex, which is necessary to come up with prevention measures, such as making it easier to find sex partners. One way to that is to teach the social skill it requires to do so. Another way is reduce the shame factor.
I suspect that these thirty year olds only went this direction because they could not find sex partners when they were younger. Sure, it could be the rape fetish, it could even be a mix of both and even the tail wagging the dog, but I think odds are a barren sex life was what ultimately led to this.
Someone might start pointing out prostitution now. But if they do, I bet they have seen many prostitutes, not the full service kind anyway. Not appealing. Its not like in the movies.

Isthistheend you said "I misinterpreted it to mean they'd be let go and do more of the same, heaven forbid."
Looking at the general backwards state of Japanese law, I think you may have gotten it right the first time. No misinterpretation.

Cavemenlawyer:
Not so in Japan. Cheap sex is easily available, at least for the natives, just walk through your nearest entertainment district. Once again: this is not simply about sex.

You interpreted it correctly. The writer is the one who screwed up.

Even if you caught them dick in hand, if you tried to detain them, you would probably be subject to incarceration. Stupid gaijin.
