CHIBA —
Papers on two men arrested for theft were sent to public prosecutors Tuesday over another similar case, police said Wednesday. The suspects may have been involved in nearly 200 theft cases, according to police.
Hiroyuki Ujiie, 33, and Hideyuki Masuda, 34, who are already in custody for allegedly breaking into a 22-year-old vocational student’s apartment in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture, in May, were on Tuesday charged with stealing a PC from another apartment in Matsudo City.
Police believe the two suspects have robbed nearly 200 houses and apartments in Tokyo, Chiba and Saitama since August of 2007.
