The Unification Church is not a Christian church. Read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unification_church

The Unification Church is not a Christian church

    Who said it was?

Typical activities of cults. Glad they got busted. The yuuta in Okinawa do the same thing, except the police are afraid to bust them.

Ahhh...does that mean they won't be renting out stadiums to marry hundreds of couples all at once?

  • nandakandamanda at 10:52 AM JST - 14th July

Huh? The guy was directly involved and knew exactly what was going on. He should be facing charges too. So, he resigns? Pathetic.

Just another Christian quackery like all the rest.

This from wiki link above: Unification Church beliefs are summarized in the textbook Divine Principle and include belief in a universal God; in striving toward the creation of a literal Kingdom of Heaven on earth; in the universal salvation of all people, good and evil, living and dead; and that a man born in Korea in the early 20th century received from Jesus the mission to be realized as the second coming of Christ.[1] Members of the Unification Church believe this Messiah is Sun Myung Moon.[2]

In 1954, the Unification Church was formally and legally established in Seoul, South Korea as The Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity (HSA-UWC). In 1994, Moon changed the official name of the church to the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification.[3]

The Moonies are no less Christian then Catholics. I`m not really sure what law these expensive seals violated. Is it false advertisement? High pressure sales? Fear? Guilt? Shame?

    Polypals,

The Moonies are no less Christian then Catholics.

In which way are you using the term Christian? Catholics are Christians; the Moonies are a cult. Why do you feel that Moonies are no less Christian then Catholics? You find the Moonies to be Christians because they have some slight belief in Jesus?

You are right in one respect, the Catholics sold "tickets" to heaven a few centuries ago, but the Moonies seem to always get themselves in troubles with many government revenue agencies around the world over and over.

Jackseoul, Ok they are a christian cult. Not much difference between religions and cults other than size or length in operation. Most "cults" are just off shoots of a religion. They call themselves christian, I`ll take them at their word.

Catholics still sell tickets to heaven in one form or another. Catholics also get themselves into trouble on occasion with governments for child molestation. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/05/20/world/main5027231.shtml

Of course when they get caught, they say "that`s not the real______________. Fill in the blanks with any number of brain washing religions. Religions are just mind viruses, infections that you can get treatment for only after you die.lol

As quoted above from the Moonies'own beliefs:

"1] Members of the Unification Church believe this Messiah is Sun Myung Moon." Since Christians believe that somebody else was the Messiah, and the Moonies believe that Mr Moon is, by definition, the Moonies are not Christian. Don't be fooled by their official name.

There are a lot of religions, but you have to figure out which ones are the correct ones. If you can't find them, then I guess it could be a problem for you.

But usually, if there is excessive money involved, its pretty obvious that it isn't the right one. Usually the right ones use money to help the poor, not themselves.

So I would argue that Corporations might be the wrong "churches" to be worshipping in everyday, and they might be the very ones promoting the wrong ones to begin with.
