NavyPilot06, the Japanese courts have different laws to deal with. What might seem like a clear cut case in the US, might be thrown out in a Japanese court.

Similar to a case here in Hiroshima where 4 marines gang raped a girl in a car parked in a parking lot. The Japanese courts threw it out, but the military court in Iwakuni had a trial and I think they were all found guilty. Can't remember the sentences they received though.

Sounds like he will have a chance to give his side in the military court in Okinawa. Whatever the case may be, the damage is already done, his name is already splattered across the internet, guilty or not.

Ok! A woman meet a total stranger in a bar. The stranger asked her to go to the hotel with him. The sex happened. Was she was expecting? It sound like a whore to me. Will a decent woman go with a total stranger to a hotel for anything else but sex?

Maybe the GI did not understood philipines word for no?

But i agree paid or not paid, hooker or no hooker.

    No means No!

Was anyone of you at the hotel room when the sex act was happening to testify about the woman saying no? Otherwise said nothing. The Japanese legal system found no evidence of rape/assault. Are anyone of you psyche to know what happened behind close door? Some of you are not concern with the woman but your bigotry toward Americans are your only motivation for asking for justice. Your sense of justice is the American behind bars regardless of the true.

Japanyesterday Bear in mind, not all Filipina girls are stupid. Can you give us some more diplomacy from the negativity of your tongue. Excuse me...

Mmm, I read everything having to do with this case. There is no evidence at all that the American soldier did anything, and as a matter of fact, all of the evidence they DO have points to a Japanese cop being the one who did everything, which is why the cops dropped the case cold originally. It was only because of international pressure that the case was even re-opened again, because the girl was lying through her teeth. Even the current people going after the soldier say they have zero evidence against him, and it is all political.

"kokuryu" Well said! "japanyesterday" there are good people and bad people everywhere. I do not know were are you from, but where I come from there are decent ladies and also whores that change their sex partner more frequent that they change their underwear. Have you heard about the word "Justice". I can not defend one of my country men against Justice. Just reverse the papers a little. Let's said the the woman was an American and the man a Filipino. Will you feel the same way and so passionate about justice? No race is above any race! we must judge according to the true.

it looks like a sad story repeating itself, who ever is running the military there should lose his command.

  • CMEANDU26 at 09:43 AM JST - 31st July

Is it her word against his? Japanese couldn't find enough evidence to prosecute so they are telling Army to do it? How do we know the guy didn't just have sex with her and her next customer was the one that roughed her up? But it wasn't me so I don't need to defend the guy. Just doesn't seem like there is enough evidence.

Its never happened where a whore goes to a room and after the act, the guy says hell no Im not paying you, and she has her mamasan or pimp rough her up so she can press rape charges on the john... No girl who works in a buy me a drink bar is ignorant of why shes in a buy me drink bar... He could of raped her and yes no means no , but I have seen it where the whore didnt get her money and charges have been brought up because of it...

And if Scibe knew something for real wouldnt scribe put a reference of this proof up so others could read it(many of us can read both english and Japanese)... Any one can type a story up and get foolish people to read it on the internet. If Scribe can show us the location of the information then we can make an educated judgement on the situation.. Dont just assume the guy is guilty nor think he is innocent from what you read from a person typing it on a forum....

  • presto345 at 05:04 PM JST - 31st July

Posting opinions on whether the man is guilty, or whether the woman knew what she was getting into, is all futile. The army is going ahead and pressing charges: http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=63651&archive=true Let's wait and see.

Ahhh, the JT court of opinion/conviction...... Glad justice isn't metted out here.

Basically, we just don't know. What Scribe posted may be true, but may not be. I could make up something and have some horrific detail. With nothing to substantiate it, everything will look like the truth. It's he said / she said with the rape charge.

The vast majority of soldiers are upstanding people, but this guy's mistake was going to a "flip" bar and paying his bar fine. All the Army has to prove is he went to said bar and paid for this girl's services. Then they got him. Rape or no rape, human trafficking is a big deal in DoD and they are looking to punish those that do this.

    Adiu

Bingo the sicilian, you get the 5 cents prize! Most of our other readers and keyboard lawyers were off the mark until you stepped in. Keyword, "human trafficking" will be the termination of a otherwise successful career solider. All evidence point to the classic case of " you no pay, me call police." The military will terminate this soldier's career not for being guilty of rape, but for doing something that come natural in places that provide a service, making a booty call!

  • BlackTieAffair at 01:04 AM JST - 5th August

I think this soldier is going up the river for sure.
