They should throw a fire bomb in his cell and say "we didn't mean to kill you." I wish the Japanese justice system would take note. About 10 years ago a worthless human being tried to rob a loan company here in Japan by spreading gasoline in the office and threating to ignite it if they didn't give him money -- they have him no money, so he set the place ablaze killing five employees -- you can guess he used the same lame excuse...
No sympathy for the murderer. Lethal injection is the way to go, I think. He admitted, and he dies. Justice at its best. Why isn't is always like this? >>Sigh
It never ceases to amaze me when killers blame everything on their horrible childhoods. A man named Dave Pelzer went through worse. He made something of himself in spite of what happened to him. This guys just a murderous S.O.B. and deserves what he gets.
I say that lethal injection is too soft, he should either A) Be taken out into an open field, and have a firebomb thrown into a closed room/cell with him in it, or B) We should go back to the Ancient Roman practice of crucifixion.
He will be reborn as a Japanese guy living in an apartment above a woman whose boyfriend throws a firebomb into it intending to kill her but he will be engulfed in fiery hell himself. Poor Ken Yamamoto. What did he do to deserve this? But I think Short is really sorry. He's had time to think about it. I don't think he should die. He should be in service to the Yamamoto family for the rest of his life in some capacity.

Perhaps in a previous life he killed someone, as you suggest will happen with Short. And the karmic wheel spins on...
"It was the first time Short had admitted publicly that he threw a gasoline-filled bottle into the apartment, where five people, including two children, were living."
Classy move that, getting back at your ex by trying to incinerate her family. I'm sure Mr. Short was beside himself when he learned he had toarched some poor foreign exchange student rather than Brenda and the kids.
It won't be he who dies, it'll be the prison guards who fight a glorious suicidal last stand to the last drops of their blood when his family & friends liberate him & break him out of prison & take him home. The prison system doesn't have the manpower or firepower to execute anyone. Such regional civil wars are what America's economy are based on. Nothing cuts down on the overpopulation & boosts the economy like a good, bloody civil war. We need more civil wars to get this country out of the current Second Great Depression & get the economy moving again. The economy of the United States has always been based on war, either civil, international, or world war. Unfortunately the war in Iraq wasn't large enough to get enough American's killed to make a difference in the economy. "Cry havoc & let slip the dogs of war!". Every corpse opens up a job for another living person & we all need jobs.

Death Row for 13 years. It is time for him to make room for the next dirtbag.
Good riddance.

The jistice system that handed Yumki Muto a 7-year sentence for killing and dismembering his sister, Azumi, should take note....
