Would somebody please explain why this is important?

why did my browser accept such stupid information. Not even news. And in terms of information, completely useless. Someone has wayyyyyyyyy to much time on their hands. And Japan Today continued the stupidity by publishing an entire page on the subject. Are we going to need to read an article about a spray painted vending machine, doors, windows, street signs, etc.? Can't we have just 1 stupid article a year. Lately there are way too many on this site.

this is an outrage! how can one possibly rob a place with all the security equipment around? It must be removed at once! The black economy depends on it.

I would like to see a picture. And if one cannot be obtained, I would at least like a picture of a generic vending machine, or some graffiti.

Asahi carries a photo and a video report...

Good. No police state.

That depends on what aspect you are looking at. I am very happy to read that some people are proactive against Big Brother.
Vandalism is not big news. But this is also resistance.

Might need a camera watching the vending machine now... like taking a photo into a mirror....

Don't want a machine taking pictures of my coke!

The machine and the security equipment were working perfectly, however, the local POLICE had just nipped out to the vending machine in the POLICE station when the ciminals appeared on the monitor.

Someone is playing a joke on cops, or testing out if security is working. This is another proof how unsecure are people in Japan. How to protect these machines: 'remove them' and give them back to manufacturers. To me it is stupid to have such machines around at a park. Police should have more awareness what is in their district.
